I just think the praise for them is over the top. Let's see how they do against an elite offense on Sunday. I remember in Week 2, we all thought Brady would leave Buffalo in a wheelchair after what they did to Luck in the opener. I still believe the Jets are not built to stop the Patriots offense, since their strength is in taking away typical athletic, fast receivers and their linebackers and safeties will struggle because that is who the Patriots generally attack. Do you know who the Patriots will attack? Demario Davis, David, Harris, Calvin Pace, Calvin Pryor, and Marcus Gilchrist. That is over half their defense and not a lot of talent there. It's not like it's going to be rocket science figuring out a gameplan, like when they've gone against teams like Seattle and Baltimore and there were literally only one or two guys they were trying to exploit. The Jets went out and spent all their money on a few big-time players, and that works against lesser teams. It does not work against well-coached teams with a guy like Brady at quarterback. The Jets have an awesome defensive line, which the Patriots neutralize by Brady's quick passes, they have an absolute stud in Revis, and beyond that, well, I think you are going to be surprised by the result on Sunday.
If the Jets defensive line completely dominates this game, that is one thing, but we've heard that drum beat leading up to a game many, many times. I also think the Patriots have a major advantage since they don't need to utilize their running backs by putting them between the tackles, which would play into the Jets teeth up front.
I believe the Jets are a really good team with a lead, where they can pound the ball, but if they get behind and it's in Fitzpatrick's hands to throw the ball into nickel and dime packages, they are completely screwed. Not so much different from the Jets of '09-'10.
