It does seem like since the practices have gotten softer, so have the players. I'd like to see an actual study on this.

Really!! Think about it., How much contact do they really have?? A few weeks?. And most of the time, without pads?? It just seems too short

fyi to players: don't fight for extra yards in preseason. best case scenario you break it for a meaningless TD, worst case you tear or break something

That's ok for starters. But for bottom of the roster guys, they need to show they are going to fight for it.

I just don't know how realistic that is though, JM. You just let instinct take over at that point. As a former athlete, I can attest. And I'm also a firm believer in the higher likelihood of injury if you play to avoid it.

Yeah i don't know how you stop competing for extra yards...especially as a rookie. Insane really

Surprised we didn't bring in a vet to backup Jimmy, could cut him when Brady gets back and Brissett can be 3rd the rest of the way.

Surprised we even drafted him and didn't just sign a vet for 4 games.... Coulda used that 3rd elsewhere.

Re Mitchell,

The nfl really needs to expand the short term IR limit. Hell, even 4 or 5 seems reasonable, thats 4 or 5 chances for starters to return for meaningful late and postseason play.

If they IR Mitchell it won't be until final cuts because they will not risk passing him through waivers now. That will allow some time for him to heal if it is really just a dislocation.

We really need Gaffney to be something, or this run game will be the bottleneck of the team, probably even more than the OLine. And those predicting 2-2 will be right.
