Lance was a higher draft pick with better physical traits. Mac has done much worse than jack squat - he's proven he doesn't have an NFL arm, brain or feet. He's a total bust, nobody is ponying up a draft pick for this bum.
At the time yes but it's 3 seasons later and he's done absolutely nothing in the league. Almost literally. In the few snaps he's played he sucked. No reason to think he's better than Mac Jones at this point in time nor that he's an NFL QB at all...and he has no path to be a starter. Still got a 4th rounder.

So yeah that's the bare minimum the team should ask for if they want to trade Mac. Anything less then forget it.

Mac is not getting better he was very lucky Today. Raiders Defense bailed him on what should have been a pick.

A little negative today? Mac's stats say he improved. Clearly not a breakthru for Mac, he still moves awkwardly and throws off his back foot. But it is OK to be nice.

I thought that Mac finally worked his way out his funk that he was in the previous two games as the game went on yesterday. If the Pats have the Mac Jones from the second half of yesterday for the rest of the season, he will be more than a serviceable QB. He played pretty well in the second half after a bad first half.

That throw that Parker alligator-armed was a dime. Good things happen when he steps into the throw. Too bad it doesn't happen very often lately.

Mac Still plays scared how do you take a Safety there knowing the protections or lack their of?? He still hasn't brought the Team back from a score down sounds familiar??

YOU can't be serious.

Agreed. But we have seen this before.

Agreed. But he was better. I thought Mac could not get worse when we played the Saints, and he did. Against the Raiders he was better.

Remember we get a higher draft pick if Mac plays better. You want a lower draft pick?

He far from perfect, but he played fairly well in the second half. Ian posted the numbers. He completed over 84% of his passes in the second half. One of the passes not completed was a perfect down the field pass.

On around half the offense plays it feels like we paint ourselves into a corner. If the first read isn't there there's nowhere to go, no outlet man available, etc. We end up with negative plays, turnovers, etc. Compound that with way too many procedural penalties and add in some drops and blown routes and you have the worst offense I've seen. They seem completely unprepared. I really never expected to say that about a BB coached team.

Took almost three years to score being two scores down yeah that's an improvement.

Boutte must be forgetting how brutal he was week 1 when he was given a chance. Trust me at this point im hoping he does play since we have nothing to lose, but hes got zero room to be pouting
At least Boutte held onto both of those balls, even if he screwed up getting his feet down. If he had toe tapped those were two significant plays and the script would he flipped about him.

At least Boutte isn’t going to half ass it like Parker. At this stage I’d be ready to cut/trade Parker, leave JuJu on the bench. Play Bourne, Douglas, Thornton, Boutte.

The problem with the line is health. Lowe is a liability against a good pass rush, but he's the third or fourth option at RT behind Anderson, Reiff, and maybe Sow, but the first two are injured and the last is a rookie being swapped in and out of a guard spot. Onwenu and Strange, our two solid guards, are banged up and playing like it when they're in. Mafi and Sow, two rookies, are being plugged in. There's no continuity and it's hard for them to get better when it's pretty much a triage unit out there.

At this point, we're not brining in a solid piece for the line through a trade. And at 1-5, what's the point?

The problem with the OL isn't health as much as it is talent & coaching.

Is that all on him? I don't think so.

And I also didn't say that he was awesome or great. I said he could be serviceable.

Like i said im hoping he does play over juju/parker. Hopefully get an extensive look at thornton and douglas too. Just for starters its not good to air stuff out like that in public. And his performance doesn’t back up the words either, not a good look.

I'm just being realistic. I have higher hopes also, but - and I've also said this repeatedly - mid is what we're in for because great/elite is going to be hard to come by unless we get lucky again.

We're in for a tough run, which is the point I'm trying to make. People also keep acting like it's going to be so easy to go out and plug in another guy who will get better results behind this offensive line and with this group of receivers. I don't feel overly confident about that.

At the same time, none of that will matter if they don't add talent, or truly fix the mess they have along the offensive line, and maybe even bite the bullet and bring in a couple of quality receivers. Because what they have isn't conducive to any quarterback succeeding right now.
I don't know, they had just slightly better QB play they'd be definitely 4-2. QB is the #1 most important position in football and it's not even close.
Mac's crucial errors this year:
-He threw a pick 6 against Eagles with zero pressure and threw high to Bourne. They lose by 1 score with the ball at the end.
-Dolphins He throws a horrible jump ball pick just after the momentum changing blocked kick with 1st down inside Dolphin territory. Again zero pressure. Have ball at end, can't score
-Saints game, who knows, I count this as a loss with another QB because 34-3 but first score pick 6, yes pressure but should eat the ball there. His Fumble leads to 3 points, another interception leads to 7. All QB's have turnovers BUT all 3 are in the Patriots end of the field and lead to easy points. Another NO field goal was on change of downs at Pats 31. 2 drives NO had -2 and -6 yards and scored 2 field goals. So Saints offense really earned 14 points and 17 of the other are directly related to Jones. With Kirk Cousins, even with ONE of his dumb plays' they might win this one, despite the lopsided score.
-Dallas-10-3 score, Mac then Fumbles into a Touchdown, had escaped pocket but had no awareness from behind and then later threw pick 6 for a touchdown when he had all day to throw and no pressure when throwing and now it's 28-3.
-Raiders-Rolled out, no pressure, open guy, overthrows, picked off, there goes at least 3 points.

Pick any top 15 QB and they will make mistakes, but Mac's crucial mistakes come most of the time with no pressure and no reason to blame the line or receivers on almost all the crucial mistakes listed.

So with any top 15 QB the team is probably 4-2 and the other 2 games they would likely have been at least in them. Despite the Oline and the receivers and the injuries.
