It's hard to see that your own guys are going to run into each other presnap.
Pressure was coming from the right side. 2 Washington pass rushers hit Brisset.

Brisett never looked that way at all in shades of clueless Corky Mac.

1. Milton is not an NFL QB! TE maybe
2. Zappe is done
3. Pats should consider signing Mike White
4. There are no fixes for this OL during the season, Wolfe blew it in FA by not getting an anchor for the line
5. Trent Brown on his worst day is better than anyone on this line.
6. Polk looks good as a #2 or 3 WR
7. Maye shows promise but he will get hurt with this OL
8. Ellis is a keeper
9. Pats will be 0-4 before you can blink anele...first 4 game are all tough.

This season will be a real test as to who is a real Pats fan and who isn't. This Offense could be historically bad.
No confidence in Mayo or Wolfe as leaders of the franchise.
This offense was historically bad last year also and we all know who to thank for that.

If the Pats start the season with Jalopy Brissett as their QB I'll be pissed but not surprised.

Going on a road trip for a few days so not sure when can watch all 22 but watched the replay today and YES, the Line has hope. The refs could have called that lining up penalty all 1st quarter on every pass play on BOTH teams, they decided on the final pre-season game, to put league on notice you can't lineup too far from the line. However, they will not be enforcing it at that level in the regular season, this was a statement by the league, I wouldn't let it affect the tape review.

My reviews of All-22 Robinson in weeks 1 and 2. I specifically said he needed a season to learn the NFL blocking schemes, he looked lost in the game 1, he showed as a run blocker in game 2, I said he was not ready to start. Well, he proved it, he can be a good starting guard, late in the year or next year, he needs time

The line held up very well on most pass protections, the line mostly blocked well for running plays. If you put the best starting 5 out there, it will all come down to the LT.

Here were the plays that were bad by O line, not counting the lineup penalty.
-Jacoby play was a screen, the rusher was too far outside for the pulling lineman to chip, the RB was supposed to fake a screen that way, should have adjusted, really on Jacoby, he needed to adjust protection as you could see before the play the RB was going to have to block that guy but Jacoby did not alert him, Jacoby also missed an easy throw earlier, he continues his career as a bad NFL starting QB, but we knew that the day he signed.
-Robinson beat on Maye first incompletion
-Robinson beat on run play
-False start Robinson

So far 4 bad plays, 1 on Jacoby, 3 on Robinson.

-Sow and Chuks got beat but Maye released quickly for completion, would Jacoby? A case where Maye playing saved the line, Sow held his guy longer than Chuks, this is where the QB is so important, he had time, not a lot, made the play.

-Leverett Driven back
-Sow was driven back on TT incompletion, Maye stepped up as outside rushers went around him but did not need to step up as much, partly on Maye, partly on Sow
-Robinson pushed into Maye
-Robinson beat run play and held
-Jordan hold bad call by refs.

So 10 bad plays by O-line, the rest were solid

5 on Robinson
1 Bad ref call
1 on Jacoby
1 on Chuks, with little help from Sow
1 on Sow with a little help from Maye
1 on Leverett driven back-happened again later but did not effect play

Sidy Sow needs to start over Robinson. Hopefully he's healthy.

You only had 2 plays by the prospective starters on the line that were bad.
The rest were on backup lineman and the refs.

Left Tackle is the question mark as well as depth. They can get a starting 4 that will be fine, as long as someone plays LT and nobody gets hurt they can be solid, how hard can that be LOL.

Wallace looked very good at RT but playing against the players to be cut not sure how much it means but he's a potential starter at either tackle spot. They have something in Wallace where he can contribute this year, Robinson needs time.

Not all doom and gloom upon tape review, lots of good blocking but 1 weak link can kill you.

No. Nothing on Mayo to question. He's trying to follow the script the organization has been saying all off season with Drake. Mayo knows his O line is a disaster.
Agree to disagree. I see a HC that is completely overwhelmed by the events and completely in over his head. I see a HC that is completely indecisive and count on other to make the hard decisions instead of him.

And I am starting to really question his ability to coach this team.
Mayo is going to be a work in progress. We knew that since he has never been a DC and led a group of coaches and players.

I personally would not have chosen Mayo because I believe that prior HC experience is vital. I would have preferred Vrabel.

I’m beginning to realize this may be thr worst Patriots team I’ve ever seen since I became a fan in 1992. And they might win fewer games than the 2 that team did.

But…the year after that, Parcells came in and brought hope.

The real question is…if the team wins 2 or fewer games, will Kraft stand behind Mayo and Wolf, or will they be the sacrificial buffer hires between Bill and the guys who will actually lead the team next?

How many games lost would you say Mayo has to go after one season?

Or is there no circumstance that happens?

Look…the O line is horrific.

I can live with an awful season IF Maye develops, doesn’t get killed, and the team improves over the year.

But if it doesn’t look very different in December, not sure I’d like to see year two of this regime.
This regime was forced to start from behind the 8-ball due to the incredibly horrendous moves by the last regime. They also had the misfortune of seeing the cap increase so much that other teams were able to sign their FAs at a time when the Pats had money to burn and a lot of holes to fill. I'm willing to give them some time.

Oh, man it is starting already. Wait until they go 0-8 to start the season. I feel sorry for Mayo; he was given a horrible roast to play with and he follows the GOAT.
If BB gets another HC job and succeeds, then Mayo will be criticized.

2nd best? Sounds like our HC believes Jacoby > Maye.

Maye is sitting.

Sitting to get the line sorted out is fine but he doesn’t need to lie to us with the 2nd best qb talk.
They were specifically asking about starting if Jacoby was not available so calling him 2nd was just responding in a way that fit the question being asked.

That said it would sound like Brissett is still QB1 for now.

If it wasn't the Patriots you'd be laughing at how much of a debacle that offensive line was, can't line up, can't snap the football, players blowing blocks and running into each other, penalties galore.

It was pathetic, if this doesn't improve out of sight it's going to be worse than last year as bad as the offense was last year you didn't have that going on.

I respect your opinion but I don't think that is it. Mayo to me seemed infuriated by the penalties the team displayed. Like players coaches have emotions too. We haven't played 1 meaningful game that counts yet. I will wait until we get deeper into the regular season before I say definitely wether or not his overwhelmed. Mayo's in charge of the 53, wolf has final say. They both work collectively. I have more concerns about the line than I do of the HC.

Not sure if they could have fielded a worse O line. The Pats should put in a waiver claim on every offensive lineman that gets released. They can't be as bad as the guy who were playing last night!

Please remember that the Pats were playing against the Redskins 2nd and 3 stringers last night! the Offensive line got trucked over and over again.

Nobody can play QB behind that line. At this point they would be better off starting Milton and running the Winged T offense.

What a disaster this year is going to be.

I'm pretty sure that BB's the one getting criticized. Didn't Doug Pederson recently take a jab at him re Mac Jones?

ALL coaches get get overwhelmed. Becuase a coach has coaching experience does not always permeate to success. I didn't see it this way. Mayo seemed frustrated by the sloppy play and penalties. It happened plenty under Bill. It's pre season. Let's wait until week 6,7 to see...

Last night went way beyond a talent issue, all those penalties and mental errors is coaching.

I would feel so much better about if if they were just getting beat for talent in a 1 on 1 passrush situation.

If I’m Kraft I demand Maye to start and to bring in 5 to 6 new lineman prior to week 1.
I say this as a 32 year long Patriots fan.
I’m not going to pay for a ticket til Maye or Milton is the starter.
No offense to Jacoby but it’s boring and not one of tbr best 32 QBs from what I’ve seen.

Ask this guy what happens when you don’t have an OL to protect you. I don’t want Maye going down this road.
