What I still don’t understand is why Belichick is not employing the short range dink and dunk passing that he did for Brady when he first started… A lot of passes in the flat to the running backs… Quick screens… I think that’s honestly what Mac needs more of right now…
Mac is a work in progress but seems to make some horrible decisions at the worst moments….Our defense is piss poor again this year… Can’t stop the run ….anytime we got an advantage on the score… The defense let them come right back down the field and score again… Going to be a long season. I think the Doofins have shown that you don’t have to have an elite quarterback but you’d better have ELITE WR and now Miami has 2…..
Cut him some slack. He’s just started year 2. He was brought in to run the NE offense and he was pretty good at it last year. I don’t know what this offense is. It ain’t what Tom Brady had to run in his second year
Belichick won't have to worry about paying a first round drafted in 2023 until at least 2026 if not 2027 or even 2028. What are the odds he will still be coaching then?
I think you could be right… He may retire after this year or it also doesn’t seem like the Krafts are very happy with the product on the field and the coaching fiasco that’s going on between Patricia and Judge… They may request that he “resign”. I obviously hope he continues after this year but I sincerely hope he brings in a seasoned offensive coordinator and a good DC
If Hoyer starts… rejoice because we are guaranteed the number 1 overall pick and can draft a franchise changer
Hoyer in his prime was one of the worst quarterbacks in nfl history. Now far past his prime, he plays at at comically bad level. His arm strength is Non existent, and he possesses zero athleticism

At the very least it might be time for Kraft to say he needs to change his staff (even if it means his son gets demoted) and that someone else needs to be a in charge of roster construction or at least be a counter balance to Bill where Kraft can break the tie if they disagree.
If Bill doesn’t like that, yes it might be time to think about whether his past success is worth an outdated roster construction model and a HC giving his son and other old buddies big jobs when there are better people out there. P
We should have been at the table in trying to get Mike Kafka to an OC role in a year we were looking for one
Next week should be a fun preseason finale against the best QB in the NFC.
Hopefully Mac 10 will be able to return for the season opener against Detroit. Would be a shame if he sustained a severe injury in a game that didn't matter.
For me there is still plenty of upside with Mac. He just needs to cut out the brain fart INTs (and nearly INTs). Are these his fault? Is it the play calling? Is it the receivers? Is it a mix of all three? Either way I still think he can be a decent NFL QB if given NFL level coaching.
