If Jones was running the Zappe offense, no one would be questioning whether he was returning to the starting line up. If you think this is the same offense max Jones was running at the start of the season, you don’t understand football. This is a worlds different of an offense.
Going forward please less to, no alghlor, hope Thornton can stay healthy.. he IS the guy that will back defenses off so Mac can work alot easier.. remember he missed the first few weeks of season.. I love Stevenson just worried about bis load being increased.. we need ty Montgomery back!

BTW Zappe's game reminds me a little bit of Matt Hasselback when he was good. Very compact efficient movement, knows how to find the throwing lanes and angles, and very quick, decisive reads. And BTW, Hasselback should have won a super bowl but the refs handed it to Pittsburg.
God no it wasn’t. In his first two weeks, he only had five pass plays over 20 yards. Not close to amount Jones had. Jones had four plays to just Parker over 20 yards in the Ravens game.
Another way they have been using Zappe which they refuse to do with Jones is play action. Although Jones is a great play action QB, they only allow him to drop back in it about 10% of the time while in the first two weeks Zappe did it over 37% of the time and a ton today too.
Evan Lazar broke down the differences between how they have used both earlier this week.
Jones had four pass plays of over 20 yards against Baltimore?
Zappe had six pass plays of over 20 yards today.

Not sure if your claim that “Zappe’s first two weeks he only had five plays over 20 yards” included the GB game, and didn’t include today’s game, but if it did include today, it’s inaccurate info.

I am using the stats I had which was his first two week. But I was responding to someone who talked about how they used Zappe last week. So this week’s stats are irrelevant.
so therefore he’ll play the first round QB rather than the better option (because @Triumph knows this better than the coaches) to save his job even though it’ll negatively impact the team and cost BB his job.
One of my issues this year with Mac is how he stares down his receivers. Everyone in the stadium knows where he wants to throw the ball. All day long today Zappe scanned the entire field making check downs...looking defenders off.
I totally agree. So for example Mac has thrown more deep passes than Zappe. Mac has also missed wide open receivers and overthru and out of bounds throws. Zappe today showed some great middle throws of 20 and 30 yards. Zappe did not miss many open receivers. Zappe made the Tight ends look like they belong. Having said all this Zappe as a Rookie in his 2 starts has been impressive to say the least. Very rare to (get it) so soon.
Three interceptions. I've seen way too many instances of QBs that can get plenty of passing yardage or even touchdowns, but at the expense of throwing far too many interceptions. Mac has been trending in this direction before his bad start this season.
Give me the guy who cares about only stat that matters: the W. Just like Tom in '01.
However, if the kid can keep this up: you gotta go with the hot hand. Besides...look, I'm sure Zappe will someday, eventually have his Brady in Mile High game/moment (and get a bunch of interceptions) and it'll be a great learning experience.
However, as long as he keeps interceptions minimized, and plays smart: I don't see why you wouldn't continue playing him. Especially if he beats Mac out in practice when the time comes.
I said before the Pats have improved and Zappe is benefitting from it. He's also contributing to it. Mac should also benefit from it. If he doesn't then what comes next will be a decision Bill has to make.
