They changed the offense to make it easier and less aggressive. Put Zappe in the offense Max Jones ran the first three weeks and see how he plays. Outside zone running. A vertical passing offense with a lot of 50-50 balls. Make Zappe change the plays at the line more.
They are handling Zappe the way they handled Jones last year not this year.
For what it’s worth seen a clip of him on the sideline testing the knee rushing against a training staff member like he was trying to give it a go to get back in.
He was spotted on the side line after the injury, reports are he was kept out for precautions.. injuries are starting to mount.. it's a long season as they say survival of the fittest.. he had a sprained meniscus from the game against the dolphins last season.. hope #90 is ok we need him..
I’ve liked Mac a lot, but I’d be lying if I wasn’t intrigued. There are no can’t miss QBs and sometimes one comes from left field. When you get your hands on one, you hold on for dear life.
Maybe it's as simple as playing a position he's never played, not adjusting well, and losing confidence on top of it. I remember in the 90s when Kevin Gogan switched guard positions from one side to the other he said it was actually really difficult.
Tbh Mac pocket presence is terrible this season. The number of sacks he tooks and Mac did have time , but had terrible throws as well. The OL was not that bad for mac as well. Mac has been regressing for 8 games now starting from last December .

Absolutely! Truth spoken here... last season mac was allowed to use the middle of the field... it's head scratching on why the TEs weren't in the equation.. suddenly Mac goes out and the TEs get involved.. strange.. if we can somehow make the playoffs in year 2 of the rebuild that's saying something about BB greatness!
I'll take any win, especially on the road. Thought we were solid enough for three quarters before getting sloppy in the 4th. Got a break with the onside kick being touched out of bounds, and we took full advantage. Being picky, I'd say too many 1 &10 became 2 & 9 when running the ball. Overall though a good W with Zappe once again looking like a decent NFL QB.
Well said….Ton of lucky breaks in the 4th and can’t be overlooked…..a better team would have taken advantage….but very happy with win….and I’m sure Mac will be reinstalled as QB once healthy but he (Mac) better take advantage of opportunity because Zappe has shown he is equal to Mac if not IMHO BETTER than Mac right now….short leash…..time to put up or step aside!

More concerning is that A LOT more personnel got involved with Zappe under center vs Mac….Mac will be given job back and I hope he takes advantage of it and team continues to excel

This kinda reminds me of Jimmy g, we drafted him out of left field. No one knew anything about him coming out of Illinois. I like that we have found ANOTHER qb that can play in the system. We have a great dilemma.. this will absolutely push mac.. all he had to worry about was hoyer.. the defacto OC. Zappe this kids attitude, his humble demeanor.. I still feel Macs our best bet to win going forward however if anything we now know have a starting level back up..
One of my issues this year with Mac is how he stares down his receivers. Everyone in the stadium knows where he wants to throw the ball. All day long today Zappe scanned the entire field making check downs...looking defenders off.
I'm not a Mac hater, but Mac hasn't proven that he can do that yet, either. So even if he doesn't face that situation there is no advantage there for Mac as far as I'm concerned.
God no it wasn’t. In his first two weeks, he only had five pass plays over 20 yards. Not close to amount Jones had. Jones had four plays to just Parker over 20 yards in the Ravens game.
Another way they have been using Zappe which they refuse to do with Jones is play action. Although Jones is a great play action QB, they only allow him to drop back in it about 10% of the time while in the first two weeks Zappe did it over 37% of the time and a ton today too.
Evan Lazar broke down the differences between how they have used both earlier this week.

Absolutely, and the majority of the throws were to Myers, Parker and alghlor.. meanwhile Parker has a heated argument with Troy brown on the sideline and he gets back in the next series.. KB a fan favorite, energetic all in team guy can't get playing time.. I love Kendrick Bourne he's what every team owner wants a positive, committed community engaged player and he's a heck of a route runner..
I'm all set with the alghlor experiment.. please let Thornton take his reps, more Jack Jones and less myles Bryant would also be good!
