PostGame Thread OFFICIAL POST GAME THREAD: Patriots Lose 34-0 to Saints

Yet PFF seems to love this disgraceful ****ing blob for some reason... I'm not seeing it...
The issue with that play is why would you design a boundary run that had a 360lb OT reach a DE playing his outside gap?

He’s absolutely correct. GM Bill is the main reason we’re in our current position.

Besides getting a QB the most important thing for the future of this team is a good GM.
We need another John Lynch type of guy - John might have made the most impressive moves in his short time as 49ers GM than i've seen in quite awhile - Belichick's way of being his own GM is an embarrassment to all decent GMs

Just watch the SB51 NFL Films ''Turning Point''.

Down 25, Blount says ''We got Tom Brady, we got Tom Brady, he's the GOAT, hands down, it ain't over''

Up 25, Taylor Gabriel says to Sanu who thinks it's over ''It's Tom Brady though''.

Brady motivated his teammates and they knew they had a chance to win every single game as long as there was time on the clock, and the opponents knew that it's not over until there were zeroes on the clock. A coach can give you a gameplan, but no one's going out there thinking ''man, we got that blitz package on third down, we're definitely winning!'' but when your leader is also the best player ever who never quits, then you always have belief that you're going to win.

That's the only reason why the mythological ''Patriots way'' worked. Brady led by example including taking it all from Bill, and everyone followed. Now there's no one to lead and all Bill can do is yell at the clouds because he has never been a people's person and without winning, there's no blind obedience.

On everyone's favorite post to share about two DEs being deep in the back field 1.34 seconds after the snap I can't help but wonder if Mac got the protection wrong and shouldn't have taken a 7 seven step drop. If he only does a 3 step the DEs are taken out of the play by going too deep.

Bill will probably trade it away and draft a center or a ST player in the 1st round
Nah - Bill will continue to do his wonderful rendition of GM by picking a TE in the top 5 picks and a TE who would probably still be available by the 5th round - he sucks at drafting on 70% of his picks - Brady fortunately made those picks look decent

So does the Zapper get the Start next week??
Who cares? He sucks, too. We don’t have a good QB on the roster and, even if we did, we have terrible starting WRs and perhaps the worst OL in the NFL.

We use pharaoh at fb.

The problem is if you run on 1st and second down you have to go the length of the field in 18 plays with 6 3rd down conversions.
They dont even do that. First drive yesterday, rhamondre runs 8 yards. Thrown on 2nd nd 2 and 3rd 2 behind your QB whose confidence is low and oline which is barely holding on. Who is that on ? Why cant BOB establish the run? Wasnt rhamondre our best player last yr ?

What is the point of establishing the run? To make it easier to throw. Getting 8 yards on first down creates a great opportunity to throw.
If your qb has low confidence give him the chance for easy throws.

There are voluminous stories of players saying belichicks coaching made them better, belichicks schemes made their job easier, if opponents saying how tough it is to face a belichick coached team, of Brady saying he couldn’t have been as successful without belichick.

If we didn’t have the holes at QB and OL Brock Bowers would be an excellent selection if we were in that 6-10 range. Dudes a beast.

this sack was completely on Mac having mental meltdowns again

If you do a normal 3-5 yard dropback in this situation, you could have stepped up in the pocket to avoid the rush and buy yourself some time.
Instead mac goes so far behind that he can't step up in the pocket. Watch the clip, there was plenty of room to step up
It’s 3rd and 14. The play call dictates his drop. You can’t fault him for executing the play the way it was drawn up.

but whats wrong in 2 runs to start the game ? getting a first down. Especially when your running game hasnt gottne it together either. At least they can establish something to lean on. BOB gives up on the run too much.

BB's way is not as much about style of play. It is based on practice repetition and team play. With fewer practices it is impossible to develop the same level of execution that made the team so successful. He has not adapted to the fact that that high end talent at the top of the roster is much more important. In addition his attempts to be kinder and gentler have not instilled the sense of accountability that was a trademark of the glory years. Without the locker room leaders he has lost the ability to get his message across.

The folks who have been waiting for season tickets to become available will be rewarded for their patience finally. I expect there will be thousands of seats opening up this off-season. So we have that going for us...

Nice.

We can go on and on about the lack of talent and roster construction. I just want to know what happened in the first 3 games and what went south in 10 mins in dallas. This is not the same team which played the first 3 weeks. Dont give saints defense and oline and all that. They played the jets and eagles .
They werent as terrible in first 2 weeks against better competition

Coaches have recent tape on them now?

Bruschi was talking on a pregame show about how you can tell if a team is tough or not. He wasn't talking about the Patriots, but in a more general sense.

Tough teams...

1) can run the ball effectively, even if the opponent knows it's coming
2) can stop the run
3) dominate special teams, especially covering punts and (to a lesser extent now) kickoffs

We are 0-3 in those areas. Not sure even Mac playing great would help all that much, until these other areas are fixed.

If Corky were playing great, our running attack would Automatically be more effective.

Now we need the giants, broncos and Panthers to win at least 2 more games and we lose all remaining games . Need the number 1 pick terribly and without Judon and gonzo should be definitely possible .

If we lose the top 2 spots we are screwed. We need Mac to help accomplish "tank for Caleb".

I don't want bill to now and go sign Jerry Jeudy for a 3rd rounder next year.

Our 3rd rounder is like a 2nd rounder next year . Don't waste it .

QB - OT - WR should be draft order next year.

Sign hunter Henry and the best available RT/LT and Calvin ridley and be done with free agency. Remaining picks should be rookies.

And now get Thornton, Douglas , Boutte and reagor on field.

Cut / trade Parker and JuJu.

Bill can chase Shula record elsewhere.

Now the more I think, I feel bills personal goals will come in way of pats tanking . So might be better to let go of Bill and provide Mayo next 2 years with limited powers and get a new OC with complete automomy . And Mayo retains his job if he can get us to postseason within 2 years or shows an ascending path.

CLICK HERE for another questionable T.Brown attempt at a block.

Didn't help that Mafi was beaten right off the snap, so there was NFW that he & Blob Brown could properly block that stunt.

I understand that some of these guys haven't worked with each other that often; but my goodness this is some basic **** they're all missing...
