Literally a paragraph basically saying “I was wrong…but not really”

I said they hadn’t put Jones in position to succeed. That I would stand by even after the last two weeks. But he completely fell apart and that is unforgivable even with the crappy o-line and receivers cannot get open. Even with nothing around him, Mac should play to a certain level. But he completely imploded instead.

And as for Belichick, he clearly has declined in recent years.

N

1) The game is passing Bill by.

2) If Mac Jones were a top 10 QB, we'd be competing for the playoffs.
It could easily be argued that Mac Jones is the worst quarterback in the NFL… The only one who’s worse than him probably is Zach

We might be getting our first last-place ranking in the power rankings since the day that changed sports history when Mo Lewis KO’ed Bledsoe.

You still still can’t see the correlation from before? Did Bill suddenly forgot how to build a team after Tom left?
I think nothing you build can work with a QB that is *this* overwhelmed.

We have the worst QB room
The worst OL
The worst WR
And our 2 best defenders are out for most if not all the season.

I’d be resolved in this years fate as well. Ultimately this falls on Bill as this is his roster.
It really felt like a bad omen when it hit 28-3 against the Cowboys.

34-0 ….at HOME….. against an equal team to us in the Saints… 34 to nothing? This is one of the most embarrassing moments for the patriots since the 90s at the least… It’s time for Bob Kraft to wake up… Fire Belichick and let’s get moving forward.

But Zach actually has uncultivated talent.

We still have something of a defense for the time being.
for the time being?

We have a top 10 defense with Judon and Gonzalez coming back next year. Sure, we have the normal number of FA's to replace: Dugger, Oche, and Jennings.

For all the "Homers"and you know who you are who thinks BB Is still the Best in the Business please stop it after Today. BB is nothing without a Good QB.
Amen

Just to be clear it was a hypothetical, I would not like that trade. Just throwing it out there

Don’t think BB would want to pay Kyler what he’s currently being paid. $230 million 5 years $160m guaranteed. Cards would take a 80 dead cap hit or something like that. I think he likes the idea of not having to pay 30-40 million to a QB.

It is possible, and even reasonable, before the last two weeks, to have given Mac the benefit of the doubt based on 2021 and the coaching he had last year. Many here, myself included, did that. It’s also possible to see the team’s and Mac’s play over the last few weeks… and change your opinion. I’ve done that now, along with others.

If you had said Mac was not the guy along along, I’ll say you were right. You were.

But I don’t see the need to trash our fellow PatsFans brethren for having had the other view previously, and then changing it based on current events.

I don’t think most Mac doubters thought he was some garbage QB. It was that he’s further away from being a good/great QB than the Mac supporters believed.

I still don’t think he’s garbage despite him being at a low point in his career. It’s just obvious he isn’t a quarterback you should build a franchise around in 2023. And bringing in better supporting players would help incrementally but is always temporary and just masks his problems.

Not sure why my post got merged with the post game thread, I feel like it stands on its own. There needs to be some serious changes.

We might be getting our first last-place ranking in the power rankings since the day that changed sports history when Mo Lewis KO’ed Bledsoe.
And yet Bledsoe didn't cry taking that shot. He had no idea he was dying on the field, but wanted to go back out there. Then you Mac on the other hand.

34 to nothing against the Saints….. I’m not sure you can say we have a defense
Can't count the freebees the O is giving away, not to mention the crazy amount of time the D has to be on the field. Clearly, the O is the main problem, ST are not far behind, and the D would be decent if they weren't parading thru the surgery.

I agree. As long as you've come to see the light - that Mac Jones is not the answer. That's fine. I'm not gonna bash you because you held out hope in the face of evidence. Now the evidence is overwhelming and you've changed your mind as a reasonable person should.

Now that we have agreed that Mac Jones is not our franchise QB we can focus on the important issues - the changes that need to HAPPEN on this team for us to return to winning ways.

I don’t think I’ve ever used this many jokers, since the avatar was introduced… Belichick has been proven to be unable to do anything on his own without Tom Brady… Look at Cleveland… Look at the **** show. He’s created here during the last season of Brady here… And since… Some of the worst decision-making in the history of NFL coaching… He needs to go immediately.
