He didn't have his hand inside the collar of the shirt, and pull him down by it.
He *tried* to do that, but his hand slipped a little.

Yes, I have seen that exact play called a horse collar before. Hopefully Maye gets those calls in future years.
Did you miss the bolded part of the rule??

or the nameplate area of the jersey

This same tackle has been called a penalty against the Pats several times.

It just bugs me that the NFL seems to want to get Drake Maye injured. They let calls like this one and helmet to helmet hits go against him all the time.

You could argue his hand slipped down off the nameplate, which it did.

That's what the ref would argue, anyway.

All that is true in a world where Will Campbell is our LT and Vederian Lowe isn't. Now Lowe might be better now and this isn't a concern but in a world where 2024 Lowe is our LT for the rest of 2025, one possible solution for giving Maye a quick out is to give Chism an opportunity to offer something different. Yes that means a decision needs to be made about game day activations and yes, Chism is, all things being equal, at the bottom of the WR depth chart but none of that is written in stone and has to be obeyed.

I'm not talking about treating Chism as a charity case, i'm merely offering a tactical switch option to help this team if Will Campbell is out for the year.
They’re not going to all of sudden play Chism because Campbell is out of the lineup.

Yes, maybe the Pats might look to adjust the offense due to the likely scenario that the left side of the line is going to be out for a while, but I seriously doubt that is going to include Chism in any way. Those adjustments, if any, will include the WRs and TEs who have actually earned PT and are contributing on the field.

Now that he has lost his KR job, I’m pretty sure Chism will stay on the inactive game day roster for the rest of the year unless there are WR injuries.

Chiefs are part of their tough schedule.

Colts might even finish second to Jags in the AFC South.

It does not matter who is in or out of the playoffs as much as it matters that the Pats have first seed.
Or the Texans, they sill play each other twice.

Know who gets that call 100 times out of 10? OFC you do, we all do...

What prediction? 10-2 isn't a prediction, it's fact.
A fact we should be celebrating more than we are. I think I read that that's our first 9 game win streak since 2015. No matter what happens for the rest of the year, this season has been outstanding considering where we were when Mayo was sacked. Yes things will become stressful when we get to the playoffs, but I'm just enjoying the ride and feel great about the team's future.

Okay.

No he’s not.

He’s on the Houston roster.
Yup he was playing RT against the Bills Thursday night looking extremely large. He actually was getting downfield and blocking.

It's not the first ugly win in Patriots history, many wins were ugly when TB played, a win is a win, simple as that.
I remember the Pats beat the Giants 17-6 once in 2003 I think. I remember RB Mike Cloud scoring the only Pat’s offensive TD that day. An ugly win, but a win nonetheless.

The Mike Cloud game. The Jonas Gray game before the Jonas Gray game.

I don’t care if they’ve played the weakest schedule in the history of the NFL. Winning 10 out of 12 games and everyone on the road is quite the accomplishment. The team is much better than they are being given credit for by Cam and Smith. To win nine in a row, even against the worst teams in the league you have to be a pretty good team.
When someone says to me but they’ve had an easy schedule, I tell them hey they earned that easy schedule. LOL!

We have to just enjoy that they won their 9th straight game. They aren't that team that's going to whoop everyone's asses on a weekly basis. In fact, there really isn't a team that's doing that.

Let's get good news on Campbell and continue the road to the #1 seed.
