He is a below average QB at best. He's been in the league since 2005 we know his ceiling. The fact he had a career day speaks volumes on how poor our front 7 is.
Agree. And, BTW, I didn't hear Brady excusing himself from that "attitude" criticism.Maybe this is what Brady was referring to when he talked about the attitude of the team last night.

So someone else takes the time and effort to start game tape, take screenshots and just points one situation where Smith successfully fooled our D including annotations and you all you can give back is hot take, meme-level garbage about how bad a quarterback is ?
How about for once instead of creating one inane, meritless thread after the other you sit down and try to actually apply a bit of the scientific method to your posts and try to back something up with evidence when you post it ? Instead we get a threads like e.g. about M. Brown that is full of factual errors, assumptions and no substance.
Seriously, try to put some effort into what you are writing.

Also just to make my point again:
The game was closer than what the score says and turned on 6 plays that we all lost. Make us win 2 out of those 6 and most probably we win the game.
In retrospect this just shows how incredibly unlikely the SB comeback was where there were even more plays going mostly our way.
Can you stop putting words in my mouth. Jesus.
I'm going through the game and posting what I see hoping for football discussions.
If Alex Smith did something well I'm going to post what I thought he did well and how it affected the Pats D or what the Pats D could do to prevent it.
Btw: Alex Smith is not a below average QB. Imo he's in the average to good range.

Smith is an average QB in that he's extremely limited but the things he does well he does very well. He's nowhere near elite because he can't beat a good defense that doesn't beat itself, but he's good enough to exploit the weaknesses in a disjointed, inexperienced, and generally bad D, which is what we were last night.
The Chiefs also have more legitimately game-breaking talents than most offenses. Hill is an absolute freak the likes of which we won't see again until the next time we play the Chiefs. Kelce is the biggest athletic mismatch not named Gronk at TE, and Hunt is a really good dual threat RB. I know some will claim that's revisionist history and too early to say and whatnot, but I really believe it. Drafted him in the 2nd round of all my fantasy leagues for a reason.
It was just not the front seven. Some miscommunication in the secondary as well. I hope bill shows them the tape the whole week.
So what's your explanation for why we allowed a historically below average QB like Alex Smith throw for 148 passer rating 368 yards and 4 TDs...best game of his career in 12 years in the NFL.
.?.?
Alex Smith a possible good NFL QB? Since when? This guy has been one of the laughing stocks of the NFL for the past decade, chiefs have been trying to replace him for a few years now. Even traded up in first round for a QB
Ok you admit the patriots were a bad D. I haven't heard some of the posters use the word "bad" to describe our D yet.
How many NFL QBs would you rank over Alex smith? I would say at least 20-22
On a different note, I believe Chiefs front office drafts good players as well as anyone in the NFL.
