All I have to say to that is what I said earlier in the season: FREE Kendrick Bourne!

Matt Patricia finally pulled his head out of his ass long enough to insert KB84 into the game and look what that gets you: 6 catches 100 yards 1 TD.

I want to see Bourne starting 90% of the snaps from here on out. You're already sabotaging Mac Jones with the coaching, how about at least allowing his best weapons onto the field?

Article for thought: Has Kendrick Bourne been mismanaged this season?
It’s bizarre how many people are turning this into a snap count thing. Yesterday was the sixth most snaps (32) he’s played in a game this season, and he didn’t even have 100 receiving yards combined in his five games with more snaps than yesterday.

I get what you are saying but my point was we really did not have a lot to be critical of relatively speaking. There is only so much you can nitpick a team that makes it to the SB every other year. And even then the critics is half hearted because of said success.

Now people have become extremely defensive and territorial because the crisism is towards a regime that brought us unimaginable success for 20 years, with a lot of built-in good will, and it is warranted because of the record over the last 3 years.
Admittingly, I am a Belichick apologist. However, the edge he provided previously, smart football, has eroded. Whether he is losing his touch or is spread to thin, (hoping for the latter) he can't continue to have a team play this type of football. I assume he and Mac will both get another year. If we are still plagued by bad football, well then even I will be up for change.

Nah. I just think Stevenson needs to learn when to go down. Last 2 weeks are on him. Should have just went down against the raiders and he should have went down against the bengals. It was 1st and goal, live for another down instead of fighting.

Also if you think Belichick's off it, bengals in the 2nd half yesterday: 119 yards (half those yards came on 2 plays), 0 points. Not many coaches in the league can make the adjustments like that against that QB and WR corp with 2 CBs out

First, what does anything you wrote have to do with the Thornton play?

Second, it wasn't Mac Jones who decided to start the first two series of plays with ultra conservative and ultra predictable series of drives being run, run, pass each drive.

Third, Mac Jones is the likely starter in 2023. He showed in the second half yesterday that he isn't the problem that you Mac Haters want to make him and Matt Patricia is the #1 problem with the offense and #2 isn't remotely close to Patricia.
Bill belichick's arrogance is problem 1 for entrusting offense in hands of two failed head coaches who don't even have an idea of what offensive playcalling is
  1. problem 2 is Matt Patricia and Joe judge

  2. problem 3 is cam Achord for not knowing how to coach special teams and riding the luck on two rookies Marcus and schooler who are performing despite him .

  3. problem 4 is Troy brown unable to coach up wide receivers .

  4. Problem 5 is Nick caley not knowing what to do with Tight ends

  5. Problem 6 is Mac who is expected to rectify problem 1 -6
Let's fix problems 1-5 before we get to Mac.

Stevenson took one hand off the ball to fight for another yard. When you are an RB in a scrum, both hands must be on the ball, at all time.

No, I'm still on BB's bandwagon, but I do think he's spread himself too thin. The last three years we would have had at least 3 more wins with competent QB play.

I acknowledge that there issues with Mac. But there are issues with every young QB, including Burrow and Allen. Mac isn’t getting help cleaning up those issues; that’s what coaches are for.

I agree that Judge probably hasn’t helped here. He was terrible with the Giants. But Patricia is not just a play caller, where he might barely be tolerable. As you said, the OL is inconsistent and that includes technique. That’s on MP; he’s the OL coach. Patricia changed blocking schemes and the playbook to dumb it down “for the players” and we see more mistakes than ever: dysfunctional routes, penalties, poor timing, etc. His changes seem like they were added to put his stamp on the offense (and to distinguish himself from Josh) and not to make it better. By dumbing it down, it’s become easier to defend.

Putting Bourne in the nearly permanent doghouse has been an unmitigated disaster; his absence might even have cost the Pats a win or two. Instead we see not ready for prime time Thornton. Screwing with Mac like he’s some dope has been a travesty. No fullback, tight ends who barely get involved in the Matty P “offense,” no cohesion or coherence. Matt Patricia is just one big unlikeable cluster*&$#. He’s the primary reason the offense has declined this year and every fan watching the game has been robbed of his or her viewing pleasure by that guy.
Blunder Bill Strikes Again!

As a Catholic - the term Xmas has a religious background. X is Greek for Chi, and going back centuries the church would use X as a shorthand substitute. They’d use other substitutes for things in their writings too. The only people who would be insulted by the use of Xmas are those who don’t understand the history.
I'm not religious so I have no knowledge of their history. Thanks for the clarification.

True, but the 85 Pats were a great team. Only the Bears were a juggernaut on defense that season. Can't even compare the 22 Patriots to that team.
I wasn't comparing the two teams. They aren't even in the same ballpark. When you mentioned only crossing midfield once it made me think of that Bears game.

The ball hit him in the hands....can't get better than that.

The amount the Mac haters will go to disparage anything he does is crazy.
The Brady haters aren't far behind.

Every WR on this team has had the issues you are talking about with Bourne. A lot of that goes to the coaching.

But in Bourne's defense, he isn't seeing the field enough and that could be playing with his consistency. If he is only seeing the field a handful of plays a game, it is hard to get into a rhythm.
Maybe Patricia's trying to end Bourne's career, just as he threatened to do to a Lions player when he was HC there.

He didn't change out of the dive up the middle into a stacked box! If no one fears your QB, they are going to stack the box and make the QB beat you. He doesn't throw it quick, he doesn't run.

He has the worst QBR in all of football!

People are starting to see the truth.

All the things Mac needs to improve would be greatly improved by a competent OC, and a competent OL. If Belichick can't see this and sticks with Patricia, then Belichick needs to go, too.

I have no problem with Patricia working on the offensive side of the ball. But the dude has no experience. Not enough to be the guy in charge. Maybe make him be an assistant OL coach first. Start small.

The extent that Mac fans go to prop him up is sad.

Bragging about 3rd and 29. The ball ricocheted off Bourne to Meyers for a TD.

People are starting to see the truth.
The problem I see is that Zappe isn't any better. Next year will be our 4th season without Brady and we still don't have a decent QB.
