He leads receivers pretty well. That was one of his strengths coming out and one of the things he does well, especially in short to mid range throws.
He does a good job on longer ones, but it’s like anything else, they don’t do it that often so it’s hard to improve since aside from a few reps in practice, they barely run them. I mean let’s be honest, today is the most deep balls we’ve seen all year.
However, I’ll agree, he was late on several throws today, including one that got Smith crushed. There were a couple others I recall where he hit his drop, was about to throw, and then held it an extra beat because the timing was off.
It was a better day but obviously not perfect. Sort of like other outings where he had moments but not quite enough.
It’s just been a weird year. Last year we saw enough plays where you felt good coming out of games. This year, it’s just the same thing each week…just not enough to feel great about much. I mean, aside from the handoff to Bourne and the plays to Marcus Jones, they don’t do anything to surprise anyone. I mean, they needed to pull out all the stops today and they didn’t do much beyond the norm when they needed to.
