I disagree, Thornton had to slow way up, the ball took a turn to the left, Mac doesn't have the arm strength to cut through the wind. I've seen a lot of his throws taken of course by the elements, which is a velocity problem. Still the ball was catchable. But it was not a great throw

He didn't change out of the dive up the middle into a stacked box! If no one fears your QB, they are going to stack the box and make the QB beat you. He doesn't throw it quick, he doesn't run.

He has the worst QBR in all of football!

They were trying to run the ball to start the clock. Taking time off the clock was more important that scoring on that play (Cincy had no TO's). Rham hasn't fumbled all year so that was a safe play to run there. You can't predict that a guy who hasn't fumbled all season is going to fumble there.

There was a point in the game where we went 3 and out twice. On both those series the sequences was run, run, 3rd and long pass play. The first pass play was definitively proven to have nobody open and Mac didn't even throw it before the line collapsed and had to run for his life. The second play within minutes analysts showed nobody was open and it went incomplete.

People were already screaming about him at that point and using it as vindication that he was the problem even though he only given the option to pass on two plays that were dead from the start.

You aren't dealing with rationality. A lot of fans just don't want to accept there's a lot wrong with the team and it goes beyond a quick fix like "the QB sucks and he's the problem that if we replace it will solve everything else".

Fact of the matter is, the game was **** when Patricia decided to stick to running twice on every set of downs and the teams could stuff it setting up a 3rd and long. Mac started being allowed to pass down field and with that plus defensive help we got back in the game with Mac and the receivers being allowed to make plays. Then we got in a situation where we could get the go ahead score and Patricia finally decided to go back to his ****ty draw plays and the runner coughed it up. But rather than acknowledge Patricia and the running backs failure on the play they should have scored, you have tunnel visioned people blaming the QB for hitting his receiver deep in the hands but the ball not being perfect enough in some fantasy scenario of a hail mary td that should have expected to happen anyways.

No reasonable fan could blame him for not scoring on the redzone on that drive. They were set to score. Also in the last 3 years we've see a lot of "being in a solid position to make a comeback or winning a game we probably shouldn't and then some running back or receiver coughs up the ball at a crucial time right when it's within reach out of nowhere". There's been a lack of discipline in those crucial situations for awhile now.

Mac has not had a good year. Let's hope in Y3 the game slows down for him, he steps into his throws, and is more accurate on mid level and deep balls. Most everyone is rooting for Mac, but he has not been great. Yes the play calling has been predictable and it appears as though the coaching does not connect with Mac. It also appears like Mac is a hard worker and the locker room likes him (not Z Wilson). But if you watched the Raiders game, you saw a lot of areas where Mac can improve.

It is sad. Our own fans turning on our greatest player who won 6 SBs out of some misguided feeling of blind loyalty or delusional hope that we would just keep chugging along like the last 20 years could be repeated with anyone else.

As a Catholic - the term Xmas has a religious background. X is Greek for Chi, and going back centuries the church would use X as a shorthand substitute. They’d use other substitutes for things in their writings too. The only people who would be insulted by the use of Xmas are those who don’t understand the history.

The Pats were two lucky plays away from getting humiliated! The offense is a joke. Mac Jones does not have a clutch bone in his body.

Time after time, he is presented with an opportunity to lead a game winning drive, and he has NEVER done it! Two years, zero game winning drives!

Before you blame the play calling, you have to realize that the QB has the ability to read the defenses and adjust protection and plays. Mac seems to be making adjustments all the time, they just don't seem to work.

Still the Pats should have won that game. I think the play calling at the end was more about making sure that they didn't leave any time left on the clock, than picking the right play.

Much like my MIL getting drunk and passing out in my bathroom, it has become a yearly tradition to watch this team melt down at the end of the season.

Converting an existing holiday to another religion to speed up said religion's adoption is a staple play used by many other religions.

Heck that was the whole playbook of the "book" religions.

He threw a ball like 50 yards down the field that hit the WR in the hands. What else can you ask for in that type of throw? But because he would've been tackled it's bad?

If we are really going to nitpick and use that throw to disparage Mac some of you have serious issues here.

It's the receivers job to make catches tough or not. And a ball that hits you in your breadbasket is a catch any NFL receiver should make.

Contorted his body?!? I would love to watch a game through a Mac Jones hater’s eyes to see what they see when the rest of us see reality. Here is the video of Thornton‘s drop. Explain to us how he had to contort his body. I don’t even see him slowing down.

To the rest of the world, this was a good throw by Jones that Thornton dropped.
