Mac has played bad his last 9 starts and you want to tell me that it’s not his level but Zappe playing bad a half is?
Bledsoe fan were saying the same thing after Brady 2nd game. The reality hit hard after that.
I am not a huge fan of either QB but I want win. Don’t care who it is. I want Zappe because I think he will make less bad decision than Mac and I think he can learn to pass to avoid battle ball. In the end neither of them is the answer at QB long term imo.
The Bears shut Zappe DOWN in the 2nd half...HOW? By standing up at the LOS and knocking his passes down instead of rushing him....I'm sorry but your heart throb is TOO short to be a starter in this league
Bledsoe was a top NFL QB for years. After he left the Patriots, he went to Buffalo and had another Pro Bowl level season. His getting caught in between the old NFL game style and the new NFL game style doesn't somehow make him a career stiff.

Completely agree with that. After those last 3 weeks and tonight all I can decipher of the situation is Bill is not 100% behind Mac Jones and is probably asking himself what did I let Brady go?
At this point I would call the Bucs to see if I can trade for him. What is troubling is I say that only half jokingly
I just finished watching the game and the only players I thought mentioning were Judon,Jennings,Thornton,Myers,Parker.
Obviously it was a disapointing outcome but this seemed like previous games in the past struggling against a mobile QB and we failed to stop him/them running the ball.
Bears had 243 yards rushing we had 70 yards
Time of possession Bears 37.14 mins , Pats 22.46 mins
I wonder if Kraft doesn't sit down with Belichick tomorrow morning and ask him to clearly and decisively resolve this situation.
My sense is that they wanted Jones to play most of the game, maybe get Zappe some reps late. They leaked the narrative of possibly playing two QBs to cover for Jones in the event they had to pull him for performance reasons (which they did), and are continuing to be obtuse about the plan in order to cover for Jones', despite the fact he was very likely sat for performance reasons.
Are we really doing that? So now players having great plays is a knock against the QB.
I forgot that Mac has never throw an in accurate ball of all his patriots career.
How much TD Mac would have this season if his off throws weren’t caught because of excellent play of his receiver ?
Again we are using a bad half against Zappe like a certitude of what he is and ignore the 10+ game le we’re Mac has been awful from last to this year to say it is not who he is.
Thornton's that guy. He's one of the fastest dudes in the NFL. 2nd fastest 10yd split ever in the combine. Watch Thornton run down KGordon after his INT, starting 3yds behind with momentum carrying him the wrong way then catches up to him in 35yds to push him out of bounds. They just need to figure out how to use him.
Bethel Johnson comes to mind...incredibly fast but never made it as a true stud and was gone in 2 years even with the GOAT as his QB..... he may be a future great or be like Bethel

Yes. If you're going to be talking about this game, and Zappe, we're going to discuss this game, and Zappe. You're making the comment about benching Jones over 1 int, but Zappe tossed a pair of them tonight, along with being off on the deep balls, throwing what could have been a third INT, and having the defense batting down his passes like Mutombo swatting away soft layups from short point guards.
Going into a game playing 2 quarterbacks as some sort of plan means you don't have a quarterback, he's either healthy to play 4 quarters or he should be inactive, Bill has made a complete mess of this QB situation.
Going by Bills own words Mac isn't healthy to play a full game and he puts him out there to get booed off the field and benched.
You think any decent quarterback on a bum ankle gets put in some sort of in game rotation??? He's either out or he's in.
Not to mention the shambolic situation where you got "collaboration" at both OC and DC and they're in the process of ruining 2 quarterbacks and can't stop a nosebleed against a putrid offense.

They were playing the Bears. I think this needs to be mentioned, because people seem to be overlooking it.
They were playing the Bears. This should have been a chance to get Jones out there knocking off some rust against what might be (at least prior to the Panthers' fire sale) the worst team in the NFL.

This is a league where a 6'1" QB is going to have tons of issues in the pocket, so unless Zappe begins to rollout and uses his small frame to find a receiver in open space while on the run, he will have passes batted down/up a ton against good teams and talented linemen.....Zappe will never be a pocket passer and will have to pray his O line can keep those guys arms down a notch
BB just said that pulling Jones was not a benching for performance, and that playing both QBs was the plan from the beginning. He said that Jones would have gone back in, but the score got out of hand, and he didn't think it was the right thing to do at that point.
You're all welcome to believe or disbelieve the coach, of course.
