So, what's our depth chart now in terms of safeties? McCourty and Gregory, right?

Wilson as well. We will add someone in FA or Draft. I hope FA. Still some good vets out there

#Eagles announced they have signed S Patrick Chung. Former #Patriots second-rounder. Still a talented dude

glad that bust Chung is gone. Soon will be Ras IR Dowling and that JAG Wilson. Please BB, no more.

Hopefully Dowling and Wilson prove you wrong, and this terrible post isn't rewarded.

Per ProFootballTalk:Harvin Deal - 6 year/ $67 Million, 14.5 Mill Fully guaranteed, Another 11 million guaranteed for injury.

This has been a relatively quiet first day of Free Agency, especially when compared to past years. Though if history is an indicator, these big spenders usually won't be able to match the hype in season.

Looking at the Patriots current roster, their most obvious needs are at WR and CB. Welker is on the street and may very well leave; if he does, a damn good contingency plan needs to be in place and acted upon. If I'm the Patriots, I can't afford to wait on Welker now that anyone can sign when they please.

At Cornerback, there is Dennard (possibly facing jail time), Dowling (injured) and Williams (Special Teamer). Like receiver, this position needs to be recreated through FA and the draft.

Hopefully tomorrow is more eventful than today was. The market may be working for the Patriots in terms of the deals being signed, but they have to stick their neck out for someone soon enough or risk falling too far behind.

no CBs really signed today...smith, Aso, talib ect

Really only grimes and a few other cheap guys

How was Chung not a bust? What has Dowling done except for being injured his first two seasons (he had an injury history). What did Wilson do last season that showed he had any promise? Where is Darius Butler...oh he's some jag on the Colts after being another early 2nd pick. Wheatley. That is all.

I know you don't sip, you gulp BB Kool aid, but he's made many draft busts especially in the secondary. At least have the balls to admit it.

How long do y'all think it'll be before the Pats make a move? I'm not expecting anything "big" before Thursday.

Per source with knowledge of the situation, CB Brent Grimes has not re-signed with the Falcons.

Tall words from some mope whose next quality post will be his first.

Chung sucked, no doubt about that. Jury's out on Dowling, though it doesn't look promising. Wilson is a complete enigma.

I have no issues for calling players what they are...when the body of evidence supports such an appraisal. So, I guess in your case I'll root for Dowling and Wilson to fail so you can have your jollies.

Ian Rapoport ?@RapSheet
#Raiders DT Desmond Bryant is going to sign with Cleveland. Best DT on the market.

Too bad. I suspect he's priced out of our range.

But going from Oakland to Cleveland...poor guy.

Yesterday, we had seven key top free agents. We have now lost Thomas, and, of course, we have lost many other early opportunities (which is not unusual). We also have not signed any of our own. I would call this a bad day, certainly not a good one.

Have they lost any of them so far?

You must not be from around these parts. Patriots never jump into FA right away. They usually take the value players starting day 2 or 3
