I wouldn't assume that. They may have been able to tell early on that JG wouldn't be able to go but kept up the smokescreen.
They claim at least that jacoby was told about his start today and were really testing if Jimmy could go. I don t think it was a smoke screen.

We have no idea whether or not the team told him he couldn't or could play.

And according to reports last week, the team thought he could go against Houston and we're egging him on to do such.

So no one knows anything, such we're all speculating like all fans do.

I'm just going by the reports.

Pats evaluated Garoppolo this morning and determined he wasn't ready, per source. Injury has not worsened.

Not enough strength in the arm. Garoppolo disappointed but staff said he did all he could to do to be ready today. Just not enough time

I'm just going by the reports.

So am I lol

Reports last week said the team thought he could go against Houston. Seems like with 10 extra days of rest he'd be even more ready to go, so like I said, who knows.

We just ran it down Houston's throat with a D line of Watt, Wilfork, Clowney and Mercilus. I'm pretty sure we can do it against this Bill's D line.

If you had read the rest of my post, it's compared to the fact that Brady never has missed a game due to an injury, sans ACL tear, including the fact that he's played through Jimmys exact same injury several times.

It's more of a reflection on Brady's toughness more than anything.

I think most of us here thought that type of grit would rub off on Jimmy. It hasn't, so due to the fact that we'be been blessed with such a tough durable QB for 15 years, we're a little surprised the "heir apparent" isn't doing the same and toughing it out.
Brady's durability has also to do with how he has avoided major injuries .He has played hurt for sure but you cannt say 100% he played with the same injury jimmy played with. Moreover you are assuming jimmy decided himself he was not going to play and not the coaching staff which saw that he didnt have enough to play. So IMO there is nothing "type of grit would rub off" couldve done. Its just bad luck.

And reports today say its not a pain issue but a strength issue and the team determined he couldnt play

Jimmy himself said he wasnt pressured to play. Reports will write anything to create a story.

Thats pretty much reading the tea leaves, especially when the guy is inactive.

That doesn't mean the team thought he totally couldn't go all week. They waited until today to make the decision, which says they clearly had hope he would be good to go.

Multiple reports are that Brady has, indeed, played with an AC joint sprain.

Derby is active.

This may be my binky's last chance to secure his roster spot.

Fortunately for him, he and Brissett seemed to have good chemistry in PS.

Harbor too...so 4 TEs. I expect a ton of running.

No, it's not. You jumped the gun, you looked silly, and now you're digging deeper instead of shutting up about it. Just let it die.

What was he supposed to say?

He's not going to cry to the media that his team wants him to play hurt.

That would be a PR nightmare, especially with this team where farting leads to loss of draft picks.

Probably 2002. But i also read that if the pats had made the playoffs that yr, brady likely wouldnt have started the following week.
