Very disappointed in Cannon so far. He's not playing like a top 5 RT.
The holding call on Karras looked to be BS because the rusher fell and had Karras on the outside of the pads, taking them both down..
Well now that’s not exactly fair .....Peyton had a Jay Schroeder noodle arm goin in ADDITION to making horrible decisions and hearing footsteps...not fair comparison....Brady still has plenty of zip on the ball
The OL will be immediately much more stable with Wynn and Watson who actually is at least an average blocker. This will in turn open up the run game which will the team less one dimensional. Have you checked the pass/run stats today ?
Having Edelman and Dorsett healthy will make a difference and getting another big YAC guy like Harry will be huge.
The offense will look completely different post BYE and when we get to the games that matter.
If there is anything I have absolute faith in Brady, McDaniels, Scar and BB figuring it out.
I think they'll be better, and I think a lot of the current offensive struggles are McDaniels calling "chemistry" plays. Plays where Brady stares down Michel on a wheel or Gordon on a fly until he gets sacked. To some degree they're treating this game as the preseason, I think, and that's a good decision because the Redskins suck ass and NFL teams are all kind of kicking into gear until November or so (consider that basketball and hockey teams have almost as many preseason games as NFL teams have games, period... and then an 82 game season). But it doesn't excuse some of the execution or coaching errors, like the pick or the dumb trick play.
1, The offense has been the literal definition of SELF DESTRUCTION. Penalties, drops, bad plays have made for a LOT of yards and very few points.
2. The Washington Defense has played better than expected. It should be noted that Washington was supposed to have a very good defense before the season started. Unfortunately they are FINALLY living up to their rep today. Go figure.
3. Most impressive has been their DL. Kerrigan is a great player who has been buried on bad teams for so long we don't hear about him Also the bull rush guy with the long name.
4. Over 30 passes and nothing on the run is just a real bad look. Not good
5, Here's what disturbs me about BRADY today. He's not feeling the pressure. He was sacked on 2 plays where I thought he could have avoids with even the subtlest of moves. That being said Cannon's not having a great game. 2nd is that I haven't seen any throws downfield after he missed Gordon. No back shoulder throws, not giving his receivers a chance, though given the drops, I can understand why.
6. Can we have a few runs please.
7. Lets see some adjustments by Josh to open some things up. Some curls underneath the zones, more throws to the TE's. Maybe a less elaborate screen.
8. Team looks sloppy. Worst tackling of the season. Offense looks just as sloppy, Just enough to tease us and then fail. Looks like too many people where reading the press clippings
