It wasn’t clear if it was his ribs or shoulder. And now the team says “chest”, which is ambiguous.
He was tucking the arm inside and not letting it hang.
From replay there was no direct hit to his ribs. He landed on his chest with his arm extended in front of him; that’s a high risk for a collarbone injury. See that all the time with cyclists when they extend their arm(s) to brace their fall.
I could be totally wrong. Goes without saying that I’m just speculating.
