I think age is taking its tool mentally, if not so much physically. He's starting to hear that little self-preservation voice in his head. You know, the same one that makes adults wince every time a guy gets hit hard or twisted around in a way that would have excited us as kids. I don't know if you can do anything about that, it's chronic. Maybe get hypnotized before each game.

I've been wondering that too. I hate to say it, but he does seem a little spooked sometimes. I can't blame him, he's playing beyond 40! At the same time... it's his choice to do so. I dunno. They can still win games, and probably win titles, but it doesn't feel quite the same.
