Bad clock management at the end of the half . With the time they had they should have had at least 2 more plays to try for the TD.
IIRC haven't all or most of Gotskowski's misses come when he's kicking from the right hash?
The secondary is playing pretty well - But on the last first down the Jets got in the half, Harmon definitely should have played the route more agressively. He had no threats deep and a crosser coming to him. Earl Thomas either breaks that one up or crushes the receiver. Harmon was there for the tackle. Way too soft by him.
Nice job by the front 7 on the Jets run game for the most part.
It looks like the Pats are going to just refuse to run against the Jets DL today.
Officials took one away from the Pats on the Gronk PI, but gave the Pats one back on the Rowe PI
Anytime the Jets drop back in zone Brady eats them up - The Jets for the most part are playing very tight under coverage to keep Brady from getting the ball off to his first receiver. We need more crossing and pick routes
BTW- I called for more of the Mitchell/Roberts match up very early in the game day thread.
Looks like another typical Jet/Pats game. It will be tight for the rest of it too.
It's time to worry about both. Brady is hobbled right now and look who they have coming up on their schedule. Tough, physical D's...Baltimore, Denver, Miami. The way this O line is playing Brady won't make the playoffs at this rate. We will be seeing Jimmy G before this regular season is over and I don't mean garbage time. Sadly the Patriots are stuck with Gost. Not going to find a kicker right now.
I'd Like to see Gost bounce back because I like him as our Kicker but it needs to happen quickly. He needs to get over whatever is bothering him like now. If he doesnt straighten up He absolutely has to go next season.
BB is still the big boss on this team. He should call the TO if his QB doesn't. But I agree TB12 should have called the TO as soon as he realized BB wasn't going to call it.
I am one of his biggest advocates....but it is time to bring in some competition.....he has the yips (look up in regard to golf if necessary)and it is NOT getting better!!!
we are spoiled, of course we are....but the team looks a bit tired, Brady looks a bit off, the coaches situation-ally are asleep at the wheel, Gost is not himself...but we are in the game. The Jets came off a bye and this game means lot to them.
We are not playing up to our standards...but we are in it.....1/2 full gang....
Gostkowski has been letting his kicks leak to the right, so he overcompensated from the right hash and hooked it. He would have missed the last XP if he kicked it from the middle. I don't know what happened to him, but there should be a kicker in for a tryout in Monday.
More awful time management at the end of the half. Plenty of questionable decisions by BB. I'm sure he will give full explanations on all of his decisions in his post game press conference.
Vinatieri had a pretty bad slump in 2003, but never as bad as Gostkowski has been having this year. But Vinatieri showed you can bounce back from something like this.
That's a Good point Rob. As disappointed as I am in his performance I know there isn't much better out there to be had. I also know the guy can turn it around and right hopefully soon. Tired of watching the guy struggle and hoping he can fix it sooner, like before the playoffs rather than the offseason. Then again BB don't play. He is "thee" if not one of the highest paid kickers in the league. He is getting paid to be great. Not below average.
This defense still look's iffy. Fitz still has too much time. I hate playing this team. It doesn't matter what the record is. They make the pats play some ugly football
