In an nutshell, Zappe is running a vanilla offense. He's not making adjustments, not calling out of plays and and most of his plays are still one-read plays.
Mac ran a vanilla offense last year as well. This year, Mac ran something more sophisticated (allegedly. at least), and his numbers dropped precipitously. I do not see how that set of facts redounds to Mac's advantage.
