Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Pats @ Browns

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

Mac's mechanics last year were fine. Personally I don't think he was healthy before the ankle injury. Mac is a good QB. That, extended preseason and a new offense were the reasons why he didn't start well.

Zappe is playing well and the team is jelling. Just gotta see where this goes
For sure. There’s also a year of tape out there on how to mess with Mac. It’s a common theme of good rookie QB’s struggling their second year. Usually what determines their career efficacy is how they respond once teams know how to mess with them.

Isn't this also Zappe's first year in a new offense without McD and with entirely new terminology and verbiage? PLUS, coming from FCS rather than Alabama?

Like I said, it's easier when you're coming in with a clean slate.

He was third and behind Hoyer for a reason.
Because he was a rookie with basically no under center experience in college?
Not the ***Hat part - the fact Jones wasn't getting the same protection. My eyes overlooked the first sentence and I only read the last part because I'm watching the game, scoring the plays and multitasking. So yes @Bruins29 - ease up on the insults, please.
I was half-way hoping for a stfu mf'er or something of the sort - just for the shock value.

Hmmmmm.

It's that antsyness
Yep. Peyton obviously was great but he was always a little antsy in the pocket. Mac seems that way too, at least this year. Zappe has not looked rattled at all even with guys like Garrett and Hutchinson on the other side.

You can't hold a takent Like Chubb forever. We didnt do badly with Sony, BUT I was a Chubb man in that draft

I agree. And to @GreenCow's point, I think Zappe is taking some of the stuff that Mac was overlooking in favor of home runs that he rarely hit. Wonder if it's a bit of a sobering experience...
I'm not sure about rarely hit. Because he was leading the league in # of long completions and big plays.

But for sure, you risk INTs and incompletions and you kill drives if you keep doing that.

I would say though that Parker's big 1st qtr. catch was the kind of catch we needed him to make in the first few games. Double coverage, throw it up.

Well shucks. Potty talk. I'm crushed. I'll never be the same. (Can I say, "shucks"?)

Zappe reminds me of Tom in the pocket. Mac reminds me of Peyton.
Visions of happy feet making me want to throw up.

When Wise was chosen captain, I didn’t realize that his teammates were telling us he was going to go berserk this Fall.

Didn't Chubb have injury issues his first few years? Presuming I am remembering correctly, we relied on Sony early for a SB trip, again iirc. So would swapping Sony/Chubb have cost us a SB? Would it have delivered one later that we missed?
