In most games the other team is good for 5-6 big mistakes a game. When you get them and don't cash in you tend to lose. The Pats are 1-3. (that 4th down penalty, that fumble we did nothing with, that 3rd down conversation penalty we stopped). The Raiders are 1-1. (They are getting 3 points off that fumble)
You can usually tell who will win or lose early on by who cashes in on those big mistakes. Right now I think the Raiders are massively favored even though they only have a 3 point lead. The law of averages says the Pats won't get many more big breaks and the Raiders will get more from here on out. The Pats either need to play very clean or convert on most of the future mistakes. Easier said than done.
Appreciate the post, but this isn’t mid 3rd quarter, start of the 4th. Otherwise, I’d agree with you.
