So Carlton Davis and JC Jackson are playing while Trent Brown is out. That brings the injury tally of expected starters/key players (if you looked at this game a month or so ago) to this:

Patriots
  • Stephon Gilmore
  • Trent Brown
  • James White
  • Ja’Whaun Bentley
Bucs
  • Rob Gronkowski
  • Giovanni Bernard
  • Scotty Miller
  • Jason Pierre-Paul
  • Sean Murphy-Bunting (though addition of Richard Sherman)
  • Jamel Dean
Bucs have more players out, but their positions of depth are TE/WR and pass rushers. Overall, I think injuries are closer to a wash if Gilmore counts.
That would be true if our expected strong depth at OL, RB, and DB had come to fruition but unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. Gilly, Sweet Feet & Brown are bigger loses for the Pats then the ones listed for the Bucs.

Somebody in the Front Office really fcked up, didnt do they're homework in scouting Trent Brown. The guy had the same injury for most of last year.
Gruden dumped his garbage on us.

Umm. Herron and Durant ? This is - clearly - massively concerning. Losing is one thing. Losing every QB on your roster is quite another ! Mason too ?
I hope Mac has taken out an insurance policy, he may need one.

It would be nice to see Agholor putting a double move on Sherman, breaking his ankles, for a 65 yd TD.

The key to this game is the Patriots' defense keeping things tight and making Brady uncomfortable, The template was the Rams bend-don't-break defense. This is a win-able game for the Patriots, particularly if the defense gets off the field and gives the offense opportunities to throw at that crappy secondary. This is an entirely different looking defense than the Saints. Harry, Agholor, and Bourne need to get some separation and open up the underneath routes for the TEs and slot receivers. I wonder if we see more of Gunner in the slot tonite.

Who ever scouted brown should have went through the garbage before recommend he be signed.

Funny you say that, because TB’s secondary is highly susceptible to double moves. Hell, they’re highly susceptible to every move this season (due to injuries of course.)

Same as SB uniform.

Starting to pour now

At this point i think the key to the game is keeping Jones up-right, cause this looks like its going to be ugly as far as the pass blocking goes.

Brady ran out on the field. Seemed to be mostly cheers.

Looks like a lot of late betting came in on the Patriots. Makes sense with Gronk out and that 7.5 is good value. Line is now at 6.5.

What was the crowd reaction to Brady running out because if anyone booed they should be beaten half to death.
