Williams has been above average this year. Not sure why you're attempting to compare him to Dawson.. Not to mention that you're comparing different players. Dawson was more of a Slot Corner/Safety type player where as Williams has been decent on the outside.

Williams:
10 of 18 (55.9%) for 129 yards. 1 TD allowed and 5 PDs.

He's taken 238 defensive snaps in 11 games this year compared to 171 and 80 the previous two years.

The Patriots could do a lot worse for their #3 Outside Corner.
Williams is inactive this week.

I see Pats -1.

Not usually good when last minute money comes against. Hope it doesn't hold.

Don’t blink because it’ll change.

Seems like heavy money came in on Buffalo this morning and now it’s swinging back and forth.

Williams is inactive this week.
Yep.. Because they promoted Ross because he's better in the slot which is where Sanders will be most of the time.

The Bills have so many backups playing I have no idea what to think.

A week ago I thought this would be a 10 point win for the Bills.

Now? I don’t know. Too many key pieces out.

You have set it up perfectly for yourself, haven't you? Epic victory overcoming all obstacles, or we lost because of injuries and would have won IF.

Very bold

Try not to hurt your back pulling them all...

Don't worry about shifts in the betting line. Those guys get it wrong all the time. Look at the match ups. We lost Wise, but Starr is out for them. We lost Rhamm but their OL is weak up the middle. Plus we didn't have Dugger last game and I predict he will shine this week. Even the fact they got their LT back at the last minute, I'm more comfortable about this game than the last.

Buffalo WILL move the ball, but our red zone defense this year has been outstanding. I would have been comfortable with a -7 point spread. This game will be close for 3 quarters with the Pats pulling away in the end.

From the Bills forum...

"Screw that! Christmas is over! The WAR has just begun!

I hate everything about Bawstin! Their stupid accent, the Bruins/RedSawx/Celtics, Boston cream pie.. Everything! But NONE more than the Cheatriots* I hate their coach, their owner, every one of their players EVER, their fans and even their uniforms!
Normally, I personally couldn’t care less what the game means in the standings. I want Carnage! Mangled up players, bleeding fans. Cops on horseback swingin’ billy clubs! Burn down Beantown! -that’s MY motto!

As for this game, it’s rematch city, Division Title at stake, Playoffs at stake! On the road at our arch-enemy! It don’t git no bigger! Yes, we could lose yet win our final 2 games against inferior teams and still make the Dance. But this AFC EAST is now OUR Title to lose! We rose up. We dethroned the bastards. It’s Ours! We will fight to the death to raise our flag yet again! Both armies have key pieces missing from their arsenal. Both have been battered some in the long, grueling campaign -a theater of war we hope never rises in our lifetime again. But that’s just part of the #Battle360. This is about what the armies assembled there do on the battlefield. Big guns in the ground offensive! Bombing from overhead aerial assaults! Submarines blowing up battle plans! Right on down to Hand to Hand combat! Leave it ALL on the battlefield. WIN or DIE! VICTORY or defeat. 1 battle, 1 opportunity. 1 shot at Glory. Today. In New Britain. Slap on your camy, your foliage, your war paint. THIS IS WAR!"
Typical Bills fan spouting typical Billss#%&t perpetuating a grim and resentful Bills life. He needs to get used to disappointment.

The Patriots live in Sean McDermott's head. Prediction: Mac Jones 45 -56 320 yards, Brandon Bolden 3 carries for 11 yards. Pats 23 - Bills 16.

Moss, their pure power back, is active (Breida inactive) but they are only dressing one TE (Knox)? Interesting strategy.

The fact that the Bills will be without Beasley and Davis today is a bonus for the Pats. That's going to put a ton of pressure on Knox, Sanders and McKenzie.

The Bills O-line is no slouch even with their reserves in there. Hopefully our front guys can get to Allen often and get him down or force him to throw ints..

His size and the expanded rosters due to Covid. Probable will be gone after this year.
What expanded roster? Williams made the team out of camp. And he's stepped up as the 3rd outside Corner.. He also has the ability to move to safety..

Not to mention he's still on a cheap rookie deal.

My only concern here is the Patriots DBs, honestly.

Diggs and Sanders are wily veterans.

I don't want to see us get burned.

Meaning the expanded practice squad roster (and game day roster), which allowed them to keep more developmental guys, when in past years they may have cut their losses on Williams and kept a lesser known player who was more raw but had shown more upside. Dugger would have been been harder to slip onto the practice squad, because he was a high profile guy with rare size for a DB. I agree that his size and versatility are the main reasons he did not follow the Dawson path.

When he has played, he hasn’t been an obvious liability but they obviously don’t like what they see on film and/or in practice, for him for be consistently on the inactive list. I also believe that Bill has a soft spot for Williams and still may see some potential that most don’t.
