I'm sure the thought was there, but the plan was likely to evaluate Mac, otherwise he wouldn't have started him. Or let me rephrase that - otherwise, why start him at all? I'm sure the plan was to see how Jones played and then adjust/evaluate accordingly, not for Mac to make the decision this easy.

I wonder if Bill was planning to swap at halftime depending on how things went. We saw the report from Schefter about "don't be surprised if both QBs play tonight"... Bill may have been looking to play and evaluate both QBs but Mac looked so poor that he pulled the plug on Mac's time much earlier than expected.
