The Pats tried desperately to trade down but I guess no one wanted to pay to come up. Personally I'm not a fan of Harry. Not that he's bad. I just think it was a reach and better prospects were on the board at the WR position.
Who said they tried desperately to trade down?

Bill on the Patriots has never valued a WR as being worthy enough to take in the 1st round. This time he did. Got to think he feels pretty damn good about this to make it a first.

I hope BB got this right, but I don't see a middling speed OWR as the guy to break the streak. It's not really a BB type pick.

Jets fan confused how to spell hello?

Harry was definitely on the radar leading up to the draft. I didn't dare think we'd take a WR in round 1 though. But hey, looks like they want to give Brady that big red zone target with Gronk out of the picture now.

It was @reamer. I wasn’t so keen on him.

I'll try to sell you. First, he had back to back 1000+ yard seasons. That bodes well for his success. Second, he did it at 19 and 20. He's one of the youngest receivers in the draft. He wasn't a 23 year old redshirt senior bullying 18 year olds; he's just better than the players his own age. He's a big, physical, talented player who can catch and pick up YAC from the slot or from outside. Based on all the metrics I looked at, he kept standing out. Then you add in his tenacity at shrugging off coverage, running through defenses, and willingness to block, and I thought he was basically a super sized version of Edelman.

Absolutely love it.

It's exciting to have a young talent to develop and maybe become a genuine big play guy and a redzone threat instead of 7 yards and a cloud of dust like Hogan.

I don't like Harry over AJ Brown or DK Metcalf but I hope he succeeds. Bill knows more than I do for sure.

This is one of my favourite first round picks by the Pats in a long time. I love N'keal Henry.

What about N’Keal Harry?

Reamer and Manx or BGC were pounding the Harry drum in the draft forum and I ended up liking him a lot more than I expected. Big, physical, soft hands, and runs every route in the tree. Red zone threat who wins on fades in a way that Patriota receivers haven't since Moss (Gronk notwithstanding). Won't take the top off but that's fine. Good YAC guy and a really refined blocker for a reveiver of his caliber. Reminds me of Mike Evans.

i can't believe the Pats took a WR in round 1.
uh...Harry...not Henry...hope this doesn't mess your head up too much

I asked Bob about him after I was looking at some of his bios. I like the pick

If Gordon doesn't last, I can see this guy taking alot of those slants.
