Gonzo hasn’t had a great year. They play a lot more zone in this system and it doesn’t suit him.

Makes you wonder if paying a man corner 30M/year to play in a zone scheme is the best thing to do.

They'll play more man when they have more players who can play more man.

The linebackers can't play man or zone right now. Baby steps.

I dig me some Diggs. He is an absolute game changer. MVP of the team IMO!!!! Wow!!!

Diggs has been absolutely phenomenal….i think it has taken him some time to learn McD O….im sure there are other offenses he could have learned quicker and been even more productive this year …..but he has been invaluable to us this year….great mentor to Williams and other WR and makes the big plays when we really need him…..wasn’t sure what to expect from Diggs coming here off the injury and the fact that Pats don’t have the best record with vet WR coming here other than moss and perhaps a few others. Diggs really was a factor last night and many other games. Glad he is here this year

so we think the biggest reason Gonzo doesn't look as good this year as in the past is zone focused scheme under Vrabel this year?

say we pay him top 5 cb money, how many years away from a man coverage scheme are we?

This is a bigger factor, a much bigger factor to me, than the 17th (and 18th) game.

They get 8 padded practices a year thanks to the 2011 CBA, where the players thought they were getting a deal.

Now, nobody can take a hit, because they don't have padded practices or two-a-days in camp. That is the much bigger issue. More concussions, more ankle and knee injuries, way more shoulder injuries - you see players take what look to be 'normal' hits from the 80s or 90s, and they're out for the year. They don't have that toughness in the bank like they used to.

Conjecture - although when you hear from players who played pre- and post- 2011 CBA, almost to a man they echo the same things.

Injuries being up is certainly documented plenty, however. Connecting that dot, no studies of yet.

This team is resilient and well coached even though we knew that. Drake and Diggs performed the brightest again on Sunday night football.

No secret but the NFL has a major referee issue this season in particular.

This team withstood injuries in game to key players and were without two of thier best players on defense and gutted out a win on the road in a hostile environment.

Playoff bound again..but the the first seed and that much-needed bye is in thier grasp.

Lamar or not that was truly a gutsy win. Drake was unbelievable in the fourth quarter. If he just coasts through the final two games he should be MVP.
