Godwin chose to stay in Tampa so he could stay near his kids during the season and not uproot them.
Kupp's intention was to sign with Seattle. If Seattle wasn't interested, only then would he go somewhere else.

Aiyuk is still with the 49ers.
Metcalf chose to go to the Steelers. He said he didn't want to play in New England. Something about it being too cold.

The only player whom we don't know if he chose to go to Washington via trade is Samuel.

You want to claim that the Pats are Missing out and to blame them, but you ignore the huge side of the equation. Which is the player's motivation. Many of the players are looking to got to an established team. Not one in the middle of a rebuild.

Personally, I didn't want a 30 something WR coming in and taking snaps from the 4 young guys that the Pats have. That's why I was fine with the Pats NOT signing Adams (33), Kupp (32), Hopkins (33), Mike Williams (31). All the 30 something WRs people are clamoring about have one big thing in common. They all missed games last year due to injury. They wouldn't be starters if they are injured..

People forget it's very rare for a WR to come into the league and make an instant impact. It usually takes a year or two.
Your excuses don't run good routes or protect the franchise QBs backside.

No, it's not devoid of talent on offense. I may have a thick skull (Irish/Polish/Slav mix), but it protects the brain that I use regularly. You should try doing that instead of reacting with ridiculous emotions all the time.

No one cares if you are pissed off. Shows a huge lack of control on your part. Clearly, you need to go outside and touch some grass. Figure out what's actually important in life. Until then, enjoy talking into the void.
I think the man makes a point

Fkn Lighthouse is Hideous, plane Is FAR MORE IMPORTANT.

At the end of free agency they have two glaring needs, left tackle and wide receiver, and both will be addressed in the draft.
I agree with you, but at the beginning of FA they had the same two glaring needs as they did at the end of FA. I am not sure how the Pats could have otherwise fixed the glaring needs, but either way, the needs have not been fixed yet so some posters get frustrated since the same glaring needs have been around for 3 to 5 years. It is an understandable frustration.
Anyone who doubts this should take a good look at what the Dolphins have done recently, and how it ended up screwing them long term.
Yes, the Dolphins model did not work, but other models have worked.

Upgrading the Lighthouse before the interior of the planes is a curious management investment decision. I would have invested in the aircraft interiors before the Lighthouse upgrade.

But for those who embrace the Lighthouse upgrade, there are daily visiting hours.
I won't argue with that personally.

The Patriots signed Mack Hollins. You will either like that or be assigned to the Gulag by the defenders of Robert Kraft and every move the team makes!

Hey at least he put up better numbers than N'Keal Harry and Ja'Lynn Polk last year!

Lest we forget this was Polk's Year 1. Man we sure know how NOT to draft WRs!

Let's take a peek at Ladd McConkey's year since we passed him over.

Oh NO, let's pretend that we didn't. Wolf is definitely the RIGHT GM for this team, never mind he took Polk over McConkey, just ERASE that from your memory banks!
Polk: 1 touchdown every 6 receptions
McConkey: 1 touchdown every 11.7 receptions

Yeah I'm thinking Wolf nailed this.

Let me preface this with I’m as far from a professional when it comes to contracts as I can get.

Now, with regards to the Aiyuk scenario:
To me at over the cap, it sure looks to me like the next two years are very team friendly with cap numbers at the 10-11 million in 2025 and 16.5 in 2026. Then it massively jumps up to the 40 millions for the next two years. It also appears that if needed we could get out of that contract then with little dead money at that point.

So, Aiyuk is injured and it appears that San Fran wants to dump him for salary relief. Would they take #77 or even #106 if we take on the whole contract.

Between the draft capital and the contract, seems like semi lower risk move with the possibility he regains his form in 2026. Then hopefully he comes around to the idea of sticking around and we can renegotiate that deal or release him.

Once again I could be reading this all really wrong and just made an absolute fool out of myself. But it’s Friday and I’m ok with that.

If, by the end of April 2026 the team does not have a solid young and talented LT, LG, #1WR (or at least a couple of of top-end #2WR's), solid Slot WR, a legit FS, and a young long term RT prospect (and if the rest of the team is and stays healthy, especially Maye), at best case, we'll be middle of the pack for a the next few years, until those positions are addressed.

Yup, basically every other top 10 qb in the league currently had legit wr talent by year 3 at the latest which aided their growth. Lamar might be the exception because he was a freak that didn’t rely a ton on pocket passing. Even in that case mark andrews is probably superior to anything Drake has.

It would just be crazy to me if we don’t end up making a single serious attempt to upgrade at wr. Ever since about halfway through last season, the perspective around the league was that maye is the real deal but he just needs help. if we are trotting him back out there with easily the worst offensive weapons in the league again and a few incremental OL upgrades its pretty negligent.

If we don’t make a real move or have hunter fall to 4 which is far from a given, we’re looking at best at relying on hitting on a second rate wr prospect which we all know how thats gone here since after 2002.

Should they not be? 8-26 the last two years and the Pats still have the worst offensive roster in the NFL, despite a mountain of cap space and a QB on his rookie deal. Would we be allowed to complain if the Pats had gone 4-30, 2-32 or 0-34 the last two years or would that still be behavior worth criticizing in your eyes? The "Patriots can do no wrong" crowd is absolutely insufferable.
Im giving this new staff a chance and right now its too early to say how the season will go. But you do you.

Yep. And I trust you'll agree that although studs at WR and TE (or any position for that matter) can be found in the 2nd Round and after, the team has yet been consistently unable (or under Bill, unwilling) to find such players. Hopefully that changes under Vrabel/Cowden. I'm calling my shot now and stating that one of theses guys: Egbuka, Burden III, Higgins, Ayomanor, will be at least high end #2 WR's, if not #1 or #1B WR's. And they will have proven to have been drafted much later than their production in the NFL will show.

Vrabel is in charge of the Patriots.

Feel free to name a GM who hasn’t made a mistake in the draft. Belichick took Aaron Dobson over Keenan Allen. Howie Roseman took Jordan Davis over Keith Hamilton and Breece Hall, he should be fired.
I would have loved Jordan Davis here and was praying he would have fallen to the Pats in 2022. He looked like a perfect fit for what Belichick was trying to do and would have been an instant upgrade over Godchaux. But no, he hasn’t been worth #13 overall for what the Eagles are doing, even though he’s been a good player.

I’d much rather Rodgers be in Pittsburgh than with the Giants for draft purposes.

Makes sense. Even so, Rogers was a shell of himself last season. And, is by no means anything more that 1 year stop-gap for any team. I'm not certain it would preclude the Giants from trading up for a QB that they'd consider to be their QB of the future. But, you never know.

I don’t think that includes the option bonus due this year (22 mill) or next year (24 mill) The dead money just wouldn’t make sense
