There were and have been LOTS of other options. You can not take that 70 million in cap space to the grave. Some folks worked themselves up thinking Ronnie Stanley was coming when he never even got to free agency. Then it was Chris Godwin who “technically” hit free agency for all of 5 minutes, and the Pats offered a huge overpay to, but he took less to stay home.
The Pats did exactly what folks here want and it didn’t work out, so somehow that is Eliot Wolf’s fault. Ignore the other overpay to Milton Williams and the other solid signings. Oh and also it means Kraft is cheap! Something something something lighthouse
They could have gone more aggressively after Metcalf, Thuney, Elijah Moore, Rondale Moore, Cam Robinson, Tevin Jenkins, Darius Slayton, Davante Adams, Hopkins, Valdez Scantling, Hardman, Palmer
YES Wolfe is to blame he is "in charge". How about trades...other teams have done so.
The Offensive skill set on this team is ridiculous and embarrassing. The draft will not fix that this year as a stand alone measure.
This is now the second year in a row where UFA signings on the offensive side of the ball has been a FAIL.
Another year of Maye on rookie contract in danger of being a fail.
Wolfe said he is in charge...he has shown a distressing lack of boldness and creativity for 2nd year in a row. Not sure how that can be disputed.
Not asking for super bowl contention but find Maye some veteran playmakers and I am not talking about Bourne or Rhamondre Stevensons or Gibbs
Rant over
