He makes the Ras IR pick look good! BTW the next pick, Greedy Williams, could have had AJ Brown, Mercole Hartman, Metcalf, basically ANYONE would have been a better pick!
Way to bring some fresh material to the table. I totally missed that Joejuan was a terrible pick and that they could have drafted AJ Brown and Metcalf that year, despite it being mentioned 200+ times in various threads over the past three years.

Interesting strategy, though, using an underachiever (Hardman aka “Hartman”) and another CB bust (Greedy) to bolster your argument.

DB are you ok?? Please retract that ridiculous statement Allen owns us recently and we ain't beating this vintage Mahomes. Lower the bar in your mind please we have too many questions for those bold statements.
Absolutely!! been saying this for a while... it's absolutely puzzling that the team didn't do anything beyond really Jones re-signing at CB.. yeah ok draft is nice.. but realistically can we seriously depend on a kid making impacts like the Jones boys last season. We just have had no answer for Allen.. I guess the only way to beat Buffalo&KC is put pressure on their defense..

So DHop's body language confirms that he would be thrilled to join our 6x SB champion dynasty, however, I do not think we are interested. The guy is washed.

Hard pass.
From what Curran was mentioning.. ownership seems to be banking on having BOB, And real offensive structure along with having a great draft will keep the team competitive... I love d hop.. but I've given up on the team going after him.. they will likely still trade for a playmaker and grab a guy in the draft...

Rams paid Steelers $10 million just to take him.

Not a bad deal for a once good player I think he still has more left in the tank we could excuse the last two years.

They can have him eww.
Nobody is talking about them but the Steelers could be a sneaky Team in the AFC this year. One thing about them they can hit on WR's on just about anywhere in the Draft that's not a problem for them. Nice young QB - Good dual threat RB - George Pickens - Diontae Johnson and Allen Robinson plus a Rookie WR puts them in business. This move might look meh now and turn out to be a great one in the upcoming season.

He was Harry bad for him.
Allen Robinson suffered with the bad news Bears plus he came on a Rams Team who was decimated by injuries and on a SB high. Regarding Robinson I can look past the last two years I excused him.

IF we want we can prevent that from happening it's bad enough we have no answers for Diggs.

I like them and Cincy in the North.

Missing on Pickens really hurts.
He wasn’t on my radar like that to be honest the dude is a beast though.
Is there a Pickens kind of

One more bad piss test and the problem solves itself.

Yes tomlin always has that team in the fight.. they are probably the best organization to draft WRs..

He also said OBJ was going to be a Bill...

I think this has been analyzed and the Steelers just invest picks in WR more than most teams, giving them a bigger chance of hitting. I could be wrong. They certainly are much better than the Patriots, though.

Since 2010, here are the two teams WR picks in the top 4 rounds:

Steelers
2022 - George Pickens (2nd)
2020 - Chase Claypool (2nd)
2019 - Diontae Johnson (3rd)
2018 - James Washington (2nd)
2017 - JuJu Smith-Schuster (2nd)
2015 - Sammy Coates (3rd)
2014 - Martavis Bryant (4th)
2013 - Markus Wheaton (3rd)
2010 - Emmanuel Sanders (3rd)

Patriots
2022 - Tyquan Thornton (2nd)
2019 - N'Keal Harry (1st)
2016 - Malcolm Mitchell (4th)
2013 - Aaron Dobson (2nd)
2013 - Josh Boyce (4th)
2010 - Taylor Price (3rd)

So both are true, really. The Steelers more consistently invest high draft picks in WR, but they also more consistently hit on those picks. There are probably a number of reasons for this. First and foremost, it's probably just their wheelhouse, much like the Patriots always seem to find UDFA CB's. It's just one of those things they're good at identifying for their system, or they have coaches that know best how to develop them.

Second could be the system itself. If it's a less complicated scheme, you can more easily identify WR's that will succeed based on their physical talents, and you worry less about the intangibles (I don't know enough about the Steelers offensive philosophy though, so this is just a theory).

Third, because of the combination of things above, the Steelers are CONFIDENT that they can take a WR high and have him contribute sooner rather than later. So they go into camp with a 3rd round pick poised for a big role from the jump. The Patriots, right or wrong, have to hedge their bets a bit, so they favor veterans. The veterans play better than the rookies, the rookie doesn't get as many snaps, the rookie doesn't develop as quickly, and so on. It seemed like Thornton had pretty consistent playing time as a rookie when he was healthy, so hopefully he's going to buck that trend and take over the Agholor role full time in 2024.

Yes agreed! Over the years from Hines ward, Mike Wallace on and on of course AB, Santonio holmes.. it's laughable that we were so awful at picking WRs.. even bad teams were hitting on WRs..
