Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

H
I would have rather the Bucs either lose to the Eagles next week OR if they pulled off the upset and had to still face the 49ers at least it’s in the NFCCG and even getting there would make this slog of a season worth it. But now it’s overwhelmingly likely they just get popped in the divisional round next week. Lame.
Honestly one playoff win is already a tall order for these moronic coaches. They're not even just average coaches, literally trash tier.

Eh they were bound to face SF anyways if they wanted to make a run.

That was a pretty cowardly throw by Cousins to end the game. A 3 yard throw when he needed 8 yards lol. At least make it a 6 yard throw. Even when Cousins plays well, he still chokes in the big games.

I guess that means Bucs plays 49rs if they beat Dallas,. Yuck.

Cousins should have thrown into double coverage so he could be blamed for that, instead?

What difference does it make when they lose or to whom, if they do lose? Brady and the Bucs by extension play to win the SB, if they want to win the SB, they have to beat the 49ers. Whether it's an NFCCG or a divisional game, it means absolutely nothing to Brady's legacy. If they beat them, they can host the championship game. The Eagles are shaky, they can lose to the Giants.
The Bucs have had so much issues getting it together that I think winning just one playoff game will be viewed as a successful season.

What would Jesu, I mean Brady do. I think in a 4th and 8 do or die situation, he'd do it. In fact it seems like he has made many of these type of difficult throws in critical moments throughout his career.

TB would do different things depending upon which group of receivers he had. Does he have Welker and/or Edelman matched up one-on-one? He'll throw short and let them get it. Does he have Evans and Moss? He's going downfield. Does he have Godwin? He's gunning for just past the sticks, but will gamble on a little bit short. Etc...

I mean I have a very simple explanation. If Brady loses to the 49ers then that becomes the only team in the league he has a career losing record against. He currently has none in that category.

One playoff win would be a tremendous victory for Tampa Bay given how ineptly they are run. They won’t be getting past SF.

Dallas have issues too. A long playoff drought, they backed into the playoffs, and they are under pressure to win. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys hand the Bucs a win.

San Fran is loaded but Purdy was starting to look a bit shaky versus the Vikings especially early on. If the Bucs get by Dallas and their defense is playing anywhere close to playoff caliber then they certainly have a chance against the Niners but it is a slim one for sure.

Still not counting Brady out from going all the way and locking down #8. We've seen this story before.

This would be the steepest mountain he’d be climbing. Reminds me so much of the 2009 Patriots but they’ll probably actually win their first game.

You never know but they still have to win tonight and they are underdogs. Should they win can they beat SF, Eagles and then KC? Maybe but it would be a huge upset. It's a shame Lamar and Tua weren't there this week it changed everything.

Looks like Jensen has been activated. I'm not sure if that means he plays or not but I'm guessing he'd be moved to guard or will they move the backup center to LG? Either way I don't personally see why you don't play him but I think he'll cost them a few downs with mistakes. Hopefully it's not a 3rd or critical down.

So I'm guessing he starts at LG? Hainsey has played well at center

NVM he's playing at center

If the Bucs hung on to Cole Beasley, who had 35 yards and a TD, maybe the Bills lose.

I'd love to know the real reason why Beasley did his pretend retirement to leave the Bucs.

My impression was that the Bucs didn't really want him. He was an extra and treated him as such.

The Bucs have such a hard time with short yardage, a quick twitch short area guy in the Edelman mold like Beasley would have been great.

They say Godwin is that guy but he's different. He's more of an intermediate guy.
