Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

The win on Sunday changed the season imo. I’m not counting out this team for a SB run. Especially with the team getting healthy
I don't share your optimism buy I'm not ready to bet against Tom Brady. The Bucs have to show me again though

If the Bucs win tomorrow then I’ll say they’ve found a bit of something. Big if.

Geno Smith giving the Seahawks a QB advantage over TB based on the 2022 season reminds me of a recent quiz question my daughter created:

True or False: Up or Down?

The Buccaneers promoted linebacker Ulysees Gilbert and cornerback Ryan Smith from the practice squad for Sunday’s game in Munich.

Gilbert becomes the fourth inside linebacker available for the game against the Seahawks after rookie J.J. Russell was left at home with a hamstring injury.

Offense looks good. D is playing great. What a difference Julio makes for the O.

What the F.UCK was the point of that trick play. IT WAS FIRST DOWN ON THE SEAHAWKS 20. Score a TD there and basically ice the game! Hell even 3 points would build a buffer.

Well I said it yesterday. If the Bucs could win today they might have something.

Well, they definitely have something. That was a quality performance against a legit team.

For the first time I also feel kind of glad that there is only one playoff bye because it’s kind of a relief to not try and do the crazy math to figure out if the Bucs can still steal the 2 seed from the Vikings. The Eagles are gonna go like 15-2 easily and that’s that for the bye, other seeds barely matter.

Meanwhile Mike Pereira......

Other than the bad pass TO Brady, and the bad pass FROM Brady, that was a damned good performance by the offense, which is something that was definitely needed. And Julio made a bit of a difference, so that's another positive, assuming he didn't develop a hangnail or something. Also, the LG change, and some more fitting run calls, is definitely paying dividends.

Great win against a very good team.

When they ran that play the 1st time with the D disrespecting Tom with no coverage I remarked, they're gonna go to it again & pass to Brady. If I knew this, the Seahags knew this. All those trick plays to TFB have been disasters. Killed an opportunity for 3 or 7 points. Leftwich is a moron. There was no need for sandlot ball at that time.
Gotta admit that I enjoyed the fans in Germany. It was a mega party the likes of which haven been seen since the early 1940s.

You can blame the coaches all you want, but you have to think it's at Fournette's discretion on whether or not to actually throw it there, based on whether Brady is covered and if Fournette can make an accurate pass. I put this 90% on Fournette and 10% on the coaches. The play is simply a formation change-up...the trickery is only if the defense decides not to commit anyone on him. The players need to have a better football IQ. They got it wrong both times.

Like you said, had the first time been an option play and Fournette saw it, could have been a huge play.

Going back to it was dumb and Fournette not seeing the play covered and just running instead was even more dumb

It's on the coach. he selected the play and the player if Fornette lacked the critical judgement it was the coach's job to know that. Teams usually pick someone who had actual but limited college QB experience to run such plays. Also Brady has less ball instincts and footwork that I do in my late 70s.

Ball instincts not great but he looked like he could do some MMA

Maybe he can learn from Alex Pereira and deliver Leftwich a left hook to the jaw.

So when McDaniels is fired tomorrow Brady should ask Glazer to bring him in as a “consultant.”

“That was one of the great football experiences I’ve ever had,” Brady said. “It says a lot for 23 years in the league and for a regular-season game. I think the fan turnout was incredible. It felt, like, very electric from the time we took the field. The end of the game, with them singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Country Roads,’ that was pretty epic. So I think everyone who’s a part of that experience got to have something. A pretty amazing memory for the rest of their life. So thank you for hosting us, we appreciate it. Thank you.”
