Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

On Monday, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said the team’s effort of late has been “embarrassing.” On Tuesday, coach Todd Bowles disagreed with Brady’s take.

On Thursday, offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich broke the tie. Advantage, Brady.

It hasn’t been every down,” Leftwich said when asked about effort level, via JoeBucsFan.com. “We’ve had downs where we can be better from an effort standpoint. It’s been addressed, and I think we can get better. And that’s what I mean about, ‘What we can fix?’ I think we can fix all the things that have been in our way throughout the year.

Josh McDaniels is going to be wondering what he has done to deserve what he's been going through, too. And, now, he's going to be without Waller, Renfrow, and Martinez (2 on IR, one retiring mid-season).

Lol Falcons
Mariota threw what I would call the worst pass in the history of the league. He literally spun around and heaved the ball straight into the air while falling on his backside. It was intercepted for a pick six but thankfully for him it got wiped out because he was ruled down on the play. Truly comical play though. He also had a pick that counted and three others that were dropped by Carolina defenders. P.J. Walker had no INTs in the scorebook but he should have had 5, no exaggeration.

Between those two clowns, and Dalton in New Orleans, there is just no way Brady and the Bucs shouldn't walk away with this division.

Guess who is in first place. And I doubt they relinquish it.

Nobody wants to play that team in the playoffs.

They could lose on Sunday and they’ll still be in first lmao

They very well might lose. They didn't do anything to fix the offense vs Rams. In fact, it seemed like Leftwhich doubled down with more failed 1st down run plays, runs up the middle, and screens.

Their defense however looked much better, albeit against a struggling Ram O.

The defense will keep them in it vs Seattle. They got their best player back too on defense(Winfield Jr). We shall see if the offense can get anything going

I still believe in this team bring a contender even with the clowns running the show

On offense there line will continue to get better with the emergence of Levertte which will result in Brady trusting them more. White needs to play more he’s more explosive than Fournette and he’s a good pass blocker as well tgat better be a 50/50 split soon. The passing game should get a lot better with gage looking closer to the player he was last year not the guy they forced to play with a pulled hamstring earlier. How and why they forced him to play on one leg when he can’t even practice the last two weeks is absolutely absurd to me. Gage getting right will be huge cause he’s a very good WR and with Godwin not being Godwin yet it’ll help out a lot. Cade Ottens getting better every passing week and Brady is starting to trust him he’s

I expect the defense to be elite again as they get healthier hicks/Vae can’t both be double teamed so they’ll create havoc up the middle for most teams. Dean/Davis are playing very good ball and with Winfield/Ryan set to come back soon there secondary will be elite

Rams may very well have the worst offense in the NFL if not for Cooper Kupp. Their running game is almost as bad as Tampa Bay's.

Leftwich's play-calling has been clownish this season. Especially the repeated inept runs on first down, short yardage and low red zone. Brady has enough control to overrule passing plays so he's as responsible for play-calling there. I really don't have too many complaints with the passing plays. Injuries, drops and some poor execution has hampered them. Surprisingly Evans has killed them with drops lately. And Godwin just hasn't gotten going on the quick screens either... he just hasn't displayed the burst and lateral movement that made those plays so successful in the past. Defenses are also onto those quick passes to Godwin... his yards per reception and catch% are way down this season. Julio Jones is just ridiculous with the nagging injuries.

On the brighter side, Otton looks like a good player and Rachaad White looks like he could develop into a good receiving back. More targets for each please. Poor Scotty Miller with his stone hands at least looks like going 110% on every play.

Scottie Miller looked good this past Sunday on the final 2 drives. Yes the TD drop sucked but they were only in that position due to key catches by Miller.

The biggest thing Miller added was speed and the ability to hit the open zone fast.

He needs to be used more going forward. Brady looked the best he has looked all season those final 2 drives and it's because he could hit his bread and butter 5-8 yard completions in 2 sec.

Prior to that it was either a quick pass to the RB in the flat which has not worked at all, and has been very predictable, or long developed routes that the Oline hasn't been able to give time.

Give me more Scottie Miller, Leverett at LG and Rachaad White at RB please.

Fournette needs to play the Blount role and be the late 3rd qtr/4qtr back that abuses the tired def.

Tgat coaching staff won’t do this at half time of last game Bowles said they should run more like what the hell are you talking about. I wouldn’t be surprised if l Everett starts when he returns there incompetent but u agree with you all those guys look good and gage should come back healthy

Bucs left three injured players home in Russell Gage, Luke Goedeke and J.J. Russell, so shouldn’t be many questions on the health of the rest.

Final injury report for Bucs and Seahawks. Of the players who traveled with Tampa Bay, only Cam Brate is listed as questionable.

The win on Sunday changed the season imo. I’m not counting out this team for a SB run. Especially with the team getting healthy

What a truly decrepit division.
That division was created for PEDton to get him away from the big, bad meanies in the AFCE and to give him an all-expansion division to feast on. Brady and the Pats threw a monkey wrench into their plan

And it's a perfect example of what's wrong with 4-team divisions in a 16 team league. Is the NFCE really that strong or is it because they've gone 7-1 vs that decrepit division. Is that fair when you hand out tickets to the dance to teams based solely on their records? I don't think it is.
