Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Right now the Bucs are the 4th seed. LOL

Inquiring minds want to know..is the All Pro starting center lost for the year or not?

sooooo out of context

also said pats nations misses him....i wish he would come back to us

Lol. What a dig against Giselle!!

Gronk's response to whether Brady should have stayed retired like him was you can't tell a 45yo grown man whether to retire or not.

It won't happen after they finally won a game but Bowles needs to be fired as the HC. He exhibits no command of the team or of the game from the sideline. Team's literally unprepared for every game and they're playing undisciplined football. Also, Bowles seems to be behind this insistence on running the ball despite unrelentingly bad results.

The offense has looked its best in the 4th quarters when generally Brady has been operating out of the shotgun where he's been far more effective than under center. Also, 9 of his 10 TDs have come on non-play action. The one play action TD was the game-winner to Otton when there was no chance they were running the ball and they had just had 29 pass attempts in the quarter. Yet the Rams totally bit on the play-action because they're stupid and Brady totally sold it. It wasn't because Tampa Bay had setup the play action with a consistent rushing attack.

Godwin is looking really limited because he has no lateral movement in his route running. Obviously due to making his way back from the ACL but he hasn't been the versatile receiver we saw the previous two seasons. Evans doesn't move well laterally either but that's more of a skill set issue with him. He also never looks comfortable in his route running over the middle where he's having issues with drops. And where he apparently gets hurt on every single reception. Evans is great outside the numbers, downfield, in man-to-man coverage, or if running to the back pylon of the end zone.

Cade Otton is looking like a nice draft pick. When Brate returns, they may actually have something with the TEs.

The running game continues to kill the offense. Fournette especially is entirely ineffective at this point. Brady is going to challenge the single-season mark for passing attempts.

Defensively, Vita Vea is putting together another pro bowl season. He was dominant yesterday.

If I'm Philly with a 1st round bye, I would rather play any other team in the NFC than Tampa in the divisional round. I don't care what Tampa's record is, they will be dangerous.

Ehhhhhhhh

Regardless. it’s only possible if all three wildcard teams lose in the first round.

They got their other big DL back for the game, and the front 7 looked much better. I don't think that was a coincidence.

Defense will be fine with him back and Dean/Davis playing at the level they are playing. When Logan Ryan comes back they’ll be elite again especially since they won’t see Kupp again since Bowles likes putting safeties one on one with him

The Bucs' streak of five straight games without forcing a turnover is one short of the longest recorded by @pfref data. 49ers had six straight games in 2018. Bucs' 2-3 record in streak matches the best by any of the 11 NFL teams to go five w/o a turnover. Six had no wins at all.

What makes this Bucs defense a top defense is the ability of the edge rushers and linebackers to play loose, fast, and flowing, and to take advantage of their speed and quickness. But that gets negated if teams can win up the middle, and teams can always scheme the run game if they're just facing a big DT and nothing else (we've seen this in New England). That's why having Suh along with Vea was so important, and that's what Hicks has to be there to do.

Bucs defense was exceptional on third downs Sunday -- Rams were 3-for-4 converting when needing 3 yards or less, but 1-for-11 when needing 4 or more. Bucs set them up in third and 19, 10, 17, 19, 11 and 15, and they missed on all six.

Rams had six different third-down plays vs. Bucs where they didn't finish within 10 yards of moving the chains. Stafford on third down vs. Bucs: 4-for-9 for 25 yards, with a sack and fumbled snap.

On defense, snap counts show Genard Avery had just one fewer snap at OLB than Carl Nassib. With Akiem Hicks back, rookie Logan Hall played only nine snaps.

This is why no one is noticing Brady's exceptional streak of no interceptions. It's not changing the outcome of the game because the Bucs D is having their own exceptional streak.

To be fair, Brady's 1 Int total in the season so far is not a product of throwing no int worthy passes. He has had at least 5 ints bounce of defenders hands.

Even yesterday he throw a pick 6 when the Rams DL/LB, can't remember the player, undercut Godwin's route and had the ball bounce off his hands.

It's not a knock against Brady but eventually DBs will start hanging onto those passes.

However I would love to see him stay at 1 int and see how the media justifies not giving him MVP when they claimed int ratio was the most important stat last year with giving Roger's the MVP

I hear you but all quarterbacks get away with those throws so they would all have worse ratios if they were caught. But you're right. People move the goal posts as needed in order prove their preconceived concnclusions.
