Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Bowles says Akiem Hicks, Logan Ryan and Sean Murphy-Bunting are ruled out for Sunday vs. Pittsburgh.

NFL notified Buccaneers’ QB Tom Brady today that it is fining him $11,139 for kicking Grady Jarrett on the play in which the Falcons’ DL was penalized for unnecessary roughness, per source.

Was that even a kick? He completely misfired from close range if he was in fact trying to make contact.

Brady has a chance to come out of this weekend with the second most passing yards in the NFL.

I think cause he has a history of that. Ed Reed comes to mind

Kicking, whether kicking at someone with intent from your back or kicking to get someone off of you, is also more obvious than the usual push-punch stuff that happens, and it looks more hostile, even though it's usually the opposite of that.

At least the NFL continues to be consistently inconsistent in the way they dole out fines, suspensions, and penalties. So there's that.

Here’s final injury report for Bucs and Steelers. Pittsburgh will be without three starting defensive backs:

Dang, Pitt has literally all their starting secondary out

With Watt also still on the shelf, this is definitely a game where the Bucs can really start to get the offense going.

They should be able to. Any given Sunday though

Jones doubtful again, with that knee. I'd really like to know what the hell is supposed to be wrong with it.

It wasn't much of a kick. They had to go slowmo to see it and it barely grazed him. What's next, fines for shoving? There's no difference.

Last week they said he was dealing with some PCL minor tear or something like that

They want him healthy for later in the season,.. that's fine but I don't understand why they didn't put him on injury reserve.

It's similar to Gronk last year. He basically told everyone how serious his injury was and reading between the lines he was saying he wouldn't be back for awhile. But Bucs didn't put him in injury reserve and brought him back too early.

This team is really weird about injuries. And, just as with the nonsense the Patriots pull, it's completely unnecessary.

Their rushing stats are really bad and I don't think that will improve much... it's not the focus or strength of their offense. Their passing game has looked much better over the past two weeks... having both Godwin and Evans in there obviously makes a big difference. I'm excited for the continued development of Rachaad White and Cade Otton, both have been efficient in the passing game and should be receiving more targets. Should be target practice for Brady with Pittsburgh's depleted secondary.

It's looking like the Akiem Hicks and Julio Jones signings are a bust so far. Looking at their schedule, the next tough opponent is BAL (TNF) in 13 days, followed by Rams, the trip to Germany & the bye. It may be prudent to let them rest until after the bye for the last 7 games of the season.
