Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I have him top 10
4 time MVP is a notable accomplishment and he is a Superbowl champion regardless.

1-Brady
2-Montana
3-Unitas
4-Manning
5-Elway
6-Graham
7-Staubach
8-Young
9-Rodgers
10-Marino
You don’t have to go through a tough playoff defense to win MVP. You just have to have a bunch of hopelessly partisan fat people vote for you. It’s a Legacy Media award. It is a notable achievement only in your mind.

I'm watching you very closely. Let's play nice. Thank you!!!

I think you're in the minority there lol Bradys MVPs don't count in your eyes then

The drastic rule changes makes it hard to compare QBs from different eras.

To accurately compare apples to apples, you have to have a top list for:
PreSB era (too long ago)
SB1 to 1980 (run dominant era)
1981 to 2005 (balanced run/pass era)
2006 to 2020 (passing dominant era)
2021 onward (to take into account 17 games)

You know you can make your point without throwing in your irrelevant personal bigotry
This is a first...not only does this poster troll on the main forum, but also trolls over here too. I admit, I am even stunned by this. Typically it's one or the other.

They’re basically irrelevant next to his seven Super Bowl rings, ya. Peyton Manning’s 2012 MVP award was BS. Rodgers 2021 MVP award went to him because, in the case of a toss-up, never give it to Tom because he’ll probably be going to the SB and we need to spread the love.

MVP awards are not an objective, tangible measure of status. You can give Rodgers fifty MVP awards right now and he still isn’t going to the Super Bowl.

Sure I'm not talking about Superbowls since that's what separates Brady from everybody, I'm strictly speaking of what makes Rodgers be on my top 10 list. He is a Superbowl champion and a 4 time MVP that's pretty good.

Are posts calling old and fat journalists “old and fat journalists” also deletable by your incredibly wisdom-filled standard?

No, those posts are fine.

Peyton Manning = Aaron Rodgers

Although they are both elite, they are both media darlings and while deserving of many accolades and awards, they are overrepresented with their MVPs. If their last name was Brees, their MVPs would be reduced by 2 or 3 each.

They are both great regular season QBs but come playoff time, they are just average. They aren't even good. Russell Wilson is an example of a much better playoff QB.

Oh, okay, just posts detailing which teams in the AFC are quite obviously superior to us, relevant to the thread topic than.

trolling journalists, refs and other coaches are fine, our team, not so much.

Not sure which team you root for, but I can safely say it's not the Patriots.

Great to see that now that Tom’s gone blind homerism is encouraged, where as before, twenty crypto-Peyton fanboys posting as “ILoveThePatsButTomSucks” was the preferred method of operation.

Many Pats fans have turned into Colts/Jets fans from the early 2000s. Look at this ridiculous thread on Patriots Planet posted by a "Pats fan."

Agree completely. Unmasked a genuinely terrible fan base (in part)
