Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I think there's a lot to not like about this Bucs draft.

I think there's a lot to not like about this Bucs draft.
Why do you say that?

They got a DT that should fit their system well. Logan Hall won't be an All Pro but he certainly looks like he can be a solid starter from day 1.

Don't know anything about oline play so I have no opinion beyond They got someone who can compete for the starting LG position.

They added a dual threat RB in White, he also 6ft tall so he potentially could be a good threat out of the backfield. His running style is very similar to Leveon Bell, I thought he was a great pick.

The TE and P picks were meh but getting McCollum in the 5th was awesome. A 6.2" CB with 4.33 speed was great.

Overall I think it's a solid draft

Such as? They drafted for need.
  1. They didn't need to draft a RB.
  2. They didn't need to draft a K.
  3. In a weak TE draft, they took one who's a lumberer.

We mentioned Zyon McCullum as a possible match for Bucs -- great size/speed combo at 6-2 with a 4.33 40 at the combine. Curious to see if Bucs can bring in his twin brother Tristin (a safety from Sam Houston State) as an undrafted rookie.

Disagree. After Fournette they have Gio Bernard who looked like he hit the wall hard. I was a big fan of his signing last season but was very disappointed in his contributions.

And they have Vaughn who has been lackluster.

A second RB who can catch and spell Fournette was a definite need and the guy they got has a ton of upside. Loved the pick

Recent Bucs drafts:

They should have avoided RB like the position was plague infested.

They absolutely needed a RB for depth. They started the draft w/ 6 picks and already have 6 w/ 3 yet to go. They filled all positions of need (OL, DL, TE, RB, CB) and got a STer. For drafting at the end of each round (at beginning), they've done above average w/ their trades & picks.

Needs at a position, and the need to draft a position, are not the same thing. Veteran RBs are a cheap commodity, and this team has struggled trying to draft RBs in recent years.

I get that but they're strapped for cash and still need to sign Gronk (maybe Suh) + rookies.

Ouch, yeah they make Belicheck look good at drafting Wrs lol
I mean 5 of those were 5-7 rounders. RJones wasn't a bad back just not the type Brady needs. But yea, not an impressive list.

Drafting 2 TEs makes me think Gronk isn't a lock to return

Bucs traded into 5th to get McCollum and into 6th for Ko Kieft, TE.

They needed depth at TE, they basically only had Brate on the roster.

I think they needed another RB, but could have picked one later. The punter pick is to clear cap space. I’m not a fan of the TE choice.
