Nah. He's agreeing w/ what Bill is doing. Nobody (not even Bill) is happy w/ not winning a playoff game. You're reading too much into it.

Payton was a very good--not quite elite--coach imo.

To me it is not so much about the end results but about the philosophy. His team building is head scratching in today's league and that was true with Brady as well the last several years. He keeps hanging on to retreads while letting quality talent walk. It's like he has no idea that QBs like Mahomes, Allen and Burrow exist. He might be the most anti-QB HC of all time.

It seems like Bill has accelerated his retread vs talent philosophy.

I read a post on the main forum in which a poster was looking for impact players like Gronkowski and Seymour. I resisted the temptation to ask him why, since Bill would dump them anyway when they became more costly or asked for a redo. There's only one person on his team that's allowed to make top dollar and we all know who that is.

There's a former DB for the Redskins who played at a very high level for a long time. I just can't remember his name.

To me, the idea that a coach is more important than the players is absurd. And the proof has been right in front of us all these years.

Edit: I was wondering when I'd run into you. How do you think the loss of Hill will impact the Chiefs? I see them slipping a bit without Hill.

Kraft is going to regret choosing Bill over Brady until the day he dies. He could have likely had a trio of Brady/Bill O Brian/Nick Caserio which would not only be great for the short term but set up long term stability. Instead he gets a good but not great rookie QB, a 70 year old Belichick, and the worst assistant coaching staff in the history of the league.

If Kraft has regrets it's because he's making less than he expected to make.

The folks who manage the Bucs see what Bob and Bill were missing and are treating Brady like, you know, the GOAT.

As for the coaches, Patricia and Judge have both been HCs and have a combined record of 23-52-1 (.306). That makes them perfect for the Pats. They won't be looking for raises.
