And now, another draft has come and gone.
Although the Patriots picked only four,
And drafted almost everything away,
We still signed lots of players to our team.
For once, the fans are happy with the picks.

+1 for iambic pentameter.

All this thread lacks now is a villanelle. (And Jon Toth. Jon Toth would be nice, too.)

There was a draft pundit called Manx,
At the bottom of the draft contest he ranks.
But as we come to a close,
He wishes to say to those,
In the draft forum great thanks.

What an overnight improvement in metre! Congrats, Manx.
You must have had an inspirational night/sleep..

Nah.. He cheated and had his wife write it... or his kids...

That's not the media guide listing, it's his pro day measurements.

Clearly Russian Hackers got to his measurements :D

Think he still has potential in the slot. I like him! Just hard to picture hin being 6 feet tall. Color me skeptical

Unfortunately I am only capable of limericks. Poetry is not my thing.

All-You-Can-Eat Buffets across New England see a major price increase.
He has lost significant weight from what I have read. He is a very intriguing prospect.

Her delivery is a bit slow.. She needs to recognize defenses at the line better.. She gets happy feet in the pocket..
Yeah but that follow through, though. She's a blue chipper.

Interior OL depth is the second biggest need. LB is a greater need. Agree FA likely source of answers, for both. Not worried about either.
I don't understand why people view LB as a need. They have Hightower, Roberts, Freeny, Van Noy, and McCellin. They are all 27 years old or younger and have good talent.

From Damarius Travis' scouting report:

Outstanding special teams talent who can help right now. Finished with 17 special teams tackles during his first two seasons at Minnesota.

2017 NFL Draft Profile: Damarius Travis

Jason Thompson:

Team captain with an unselfish approach to the game and a cranked motor that makes him a favorite of the coaches. Voracious note taker who wants to learn and loves football. Special teams ace who races ahead of teammates to find the ball. Had 17 special teams tackles total over last two seasons.

2017 NFL Draft Profile: Jason Thompson

Along with David Jones, the Safety battle in camp, for potentially, Jordan Richards' spot will be a good one. A little like the CB battle last year.

I just wanna thank manxman2601, long-distance, Reamer and all the other draft gurus who put in countless hours every year to bring us all the insightful draft news. You guys do a bang up job, and it's greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your service, gents!

The drop off from Hightower to the other LBs is pretty considerable though

I'm hoping Van Noy and Mcellin will improve with more experience in Matt Patricia's system, and Roberts will hopefully make a second-year jump
