Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

The Dolphin fan on NFL Network's Fat Head Fan Cam crying over them not taking Quinn was a Phucking riot.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

im very scared..Alan branch at 24? Im scared it happens..i dont want it to

Im getting sick just thinking about it.

Unlikely, I think. KC snagging him wouldn't surprise me. But the Pats? He represents poor value. You never know though, the Pats love talented linemen. Hopefully if nothing else, the stress fractures scare them off.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

I'm guessing they trade out of #24 and take Chicago's #31 and their #96 or whatever in the 3rd. That would be great. chicago takes Branch.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

i heard it was a third and 1st i'll be sad if it was a second and first the pats would of make out like bandits

Nope they officially got Cleveland's #2 this year and #1 next year. I'm disappointed too. That would have been an awesome bounty for the Pats.

Oh well, give me Meachem and a DB or LB. The Chiefs are probably gonna take Meachem though. We might end up with Branch??

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Consensus #5 overall DT Alan Branch (Michigan) appears to be best value if KC does not take him.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

damn i wish we made that trade was romeo that scared that kc would go for it wheres the love big guy?

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

That Merriweather from miami might be the best value/need player for the Pats at this point.
Too bad he's got so much sh!t on him.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

god not a Tightend please no

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Quinn won't be good in the NFL...from what Michigan dave said he gets all stressed out...although I guess McNabb also does.

Just another long period of bleakness for Cleveland...it never ends for that place.

Michigan Dave comes with fairly transparent bias where either Michigan players or anyone from ND is concerned. He still can't figure out how Drew Henson landed in the CFL.

This is probably the best thing that could have happened to Quinn, even if it cost him $25M up front. Less pressure, less hype (which I think he was buying into too much), huge chip on his shoulder now, #3 LT to bond with as rookies. I think he will be a very good NFL starter in time for a long time. And in a league where very good is all you need to win as a team, Cleveland may finally be coming out of their long suffering nightmare.

And they can always flip Frye to some other QB starved team for an extra day one pick in 2008 - maybe Miami!!! 'Cause their selections should be near the top of the round for the forseeable future.

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Merriweather or houston

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

It's an almost identical trade as the Pats made with Baltimore. NE traded down from 19 to 37, and got the next year's 1st from Baltimore, who did the deal to get Kyle Boller (we took Eugene Wilson at 37).

I'm happy for Quinn and for the Browns. Browns offense is a lot better, with Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach, Quinn, and also Bentley back from injury.

Too bad he's got so much sh!t on him.

His rap sheet isn't that bad. The gun incident involved the lawful discharge of a legally owned and licensed firearm, the head stomping thing happened in the heat of a giant brawl. Other than that, he's clean. This isn't Pacman we're talking about. He represents an awesome value for the Pats though. Fast, instinctive, corner cover skills with the willingness to support the run.

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

Hmm...Olsen is a guy I thought could be a trade trigger at 24, interesting to see him still hanging around...

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Chiefs take Dwayne Bowe

Re: Official 2007 NFL Draft 1st Round Discussion

Chiefs take: Dwayne Bowe

okay. PATRIOTS TAKE MERIWEATHER OR BEASON PLEAAAAAAAASE or HOUSTON

Re: Official 2007 Patriots Draft Thread

So now the Patriots are guaranteed to get one of the guys I considered 1st-round value for them -- Staley, Meachem, Harris. So just watch them trade down...
Okay, Staley looks good.
