Feel free to help track the misery.

Day 146: The authorities continue to re-play meaningless Rams-Saints games on NFL*N. It has been perhaps the most awesome off-season for a decade, yet the whole world remains a ghost of itself. The authorities continue to refuse to let new football be played. I follow fan spats about what will happen in the future, to no avail. None of it can be known yet. For now we fester in our cells, waiting for the day that foot meets pigskin for real in the 2017-2018 season... if there is a 2017-2018 season.

I watch politics. I play games. On occasion, I write. I try to break up the boredom but the boredom is unending. I know that there are events of great moment afoot: North Korea seems to have ICBMs and H-Bombs. Tens of thousands are dying each year in a prescription opioid epidemic. Yet I cannot shake the feeling that Kim is only bored because there is no football. Prescription opioids are prescribed for pain, but how much of that pain is, at root, magnified by lack of football? I do not mean to be heartless. I ask only whether this blight that has fallen over all of us, the off-season, does not make things look worse.

Tomorrow will be the fourth of July. They will taunt me again with ubiquitous displays of red, white, blue, and incidental silver from ambient sources, such as the coin you might flip to decide whether it is time for another beer. Children, perhaps, will throw a football around out of season. God bless them. I do not know that I can share their hope that there will ever be another season.
Along with well, you know what, am pitching Bob Kraft the Patriots Channel, possibly PPV/On Demand although I'd just prefer the thing run continuously like a regular channel. You can scurry around like me doing odds and ends during commercials.

Imagine history, highlights and current updates on the Pats without all the B.S.

And, no more NFL Network endless replays of old overrated games between teams you hate.

Instead, replays of games that have never been seen since they were originally played in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and on, bringing back fond memories and rediscovering plays and players you missed or forgot.

Yeah I could see watching "live" as Steve Nelson and Stanley Steamer and Steve Grogan did stuff that really should have come to fruition in a ring one year or another. But I'm not sure that I could do the bad memory tour of losing at the end of those seasons....

Seems like Jets fans would pay good money for that though.

I've been trying to find out if any of Westwood One game broadcasts have been archived to listen to. Kevin Harlan is one of the best play by play callers in the business. All I've been able to find is highlights so far.

Joe Kerr's Off Season Diary....Day 41

woke up this morning and had a cup of tea, did some stretching and said my daily prayer..."Dear God, please find a way in YOUR infinite wisdom, to rain hail and brimstone on Roger Goodell until he is burnt to a glowing cinder...Lord Hear My Prayer"

Amen.

19 very long days until TC opens.. and we will once again begin the journey that is the "nirvana" of another Superbowl.

We will also find the answer to the question if the "reincarnated Braddhy cannot simply be "drafted" or "acquired." There is a very thorough process through which he must be found". Either that or he found himself in the rarefied air of Montana..

In the meantime I retreat to the "sweat lodge" and chant..

My guess is that Ray Lewis killed the guy who used to post "Ray Lewis killed a guy" in every thread. RIP.

Come on now he just obstructed a guy about killing a guy. Or something.

Also Ray fired up that empty garage. I really believe that's why we won 51

Have we ever really discussed this? What the hell was that about? I had totally forgotten about that until now.

LOL I have no idea what that was, it needed some kind of framing device so they made it clear they knew it was ridiculous for Ray Lewis to be firing up nobody about the Patriots in an empty room... like, show him coming home from the dentist saying "Is this real life?"

In fact, as shorthand, let's just call that clip "Ray Ray After Dentist"

The thing is, I feel the same way about a lot of jerks besides Roger.

Nope, don't feel bad about it at all...
