O’Brien is going to demand accountability of the receivers

A hallmark of Belichick’s teams have always been to find what a player excels at and put them in a position to use those strength to succeed. That is NOT what Patricia did. He called plays that didn’t account for that. The playbook needs to be built during the off-season and through camp with player skills in mind. BOB is going to right that ship.
Exactly right! It was encouraging to hear that Mac was working with BOB and offensive staff to revamp the playbook during the off season. It's just so frustrating that we had to endure last season as it did absolutely nothing for Mac or the organization.

I'd have to imagine BOB has installed some designed plays to Mac's strengths.. I'll say.. Mac can get outside the pocket if he has too.. he has some athletic ability. Like to see him roll out more. I'm really high on gisikie he's the type of pass catcher at the TE position we haven't had since Hernandez.. not saying he's him.. but I believe this offense can be top 10 !

They also found Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch, solid possession WR David Givens, slot stud Julian Edelman, kick returner Brandon Tate, special teams ace Matt Slater, Malcolm Mitchell, Braxton Berrios and Jakobi Meyers.
You'll never convince the nattering nabobs. In the same way they accuse the homer caste of having a blind spot re: BB drafting WRs; they're equally blinded themselves by the "only a #1 WR as team savior after the QB" thought process.

Absolutes in both cases.

They had the second best WR in history in Randy Moss and Wes Welker… they didn’t win a ring. I’m sure it’s very scientific though.

not to quibble but THIS one wouldn't be a bad idea either...

Never heard that song until now... I like it...
it was ok. But I spent more attention on redesigning their pyrotechnics than on the music. That tells me it could've been better. The pyro certainly could’ve been better IMO.

Patricia/Judge barely ran a pop-warner offense and benched our most explosive receiver. So, of course the fundamentals were gonna go down the drain.

it was pretty clear all the fundamentals on offense declined with these two bozo's leading the ship.

That's right... and a fan favorite, close with RK.. a great locker room guy emotional leader.. Every team wants a guy like KB.. I hope he can be featured more this season. All he did was make plays when give the opportunity. Even though the ask was stupid of BB it was even more stupid for Patricia and judge to accept the responsibility.

What about Bob demands accountability from Bill? These starting tackles and the backups are going to have to work. No LT was drafted though Sow played it for a year long, long ago and will be developed there.

But the other missing talent on offense—and it may still be found in-house with Ty Montgomery or Pierre Strong— is the pass-catching RB that’s so vital with this quick-strike offense led by an immobile QB, Mac Jones.

Time will tell if not trying to get these guys in the draft was a mistake. But the guy calling the shots should be held to account just like the players.

I guess turning heads in the film room is no longer good enough.

How witty of you, Spiro.

The offense looked better late in the season but then special teams let them down. And/or officiating. Truly frustrating season, they were good enough to win 10 or 11 even with Patricia calling plays.

There's plenty of reason to think the team will be substantially better in all 3 phases: defense was already good but could be top 5 this year. Offense and ST's were not good but now look much better on paper. However, the schedule is tough and opponents are also improving. I see a LOT of close games this year, an emphasis on running and play action with a fair number of deep shots thrown in, and better rz offensive execution.

since when is "long, long ago" equal to 2 years. Your penchant for hyperbole in making your points is tiresome

You are right. the fact the losses of BOTH White and Montgomery was a bigger blow to the offense that is generally credited. I know Rham has excellent hands, but what made James White so effective was his route running. Not sure if Rham has developed that skill yet, ao Montgomery's healthy return and Strong's development IS really important to the success of the offense, imho

BTW - Mac is NOT and immobile QB. His 40 and 3-cone times are close to Mahomes and better than Prescott's. The fact that he hasn't developed the escapability skills to match his physical skills is a product of his never needing to use them at Alabama, and, sadly again, the lack of good coaching last year. He WILL need to develop in this area over time.

Well you can say that for ANY draft. Perhaps the best thing about this draft are the numbers. We you draft TWELVE players you have 5 or 6 more chances to hit than when you draft the usual 6 or 7. It's simple math, But there is ONE thing I've noticed is the Pats using the RAS as an important factor in their draft decisions, Sow being a great example. I think the Pats drafted him as an OLman, rather than an OT or OG. I'm guessing he will get work at BOTH those positions during the OTA's and TC, It will depend on how the OT competition goes, of course, but I won't be a bit surprised if he ends up as an OT.

At any rate it will be one HELL of an interesting TC, and once they put on the pads, I hope to be there for most of them

Oh...so I should expect some real fan noise from Wolfgang, Fritz and Wilhelmina in the stands, eh? du gehst,Patrioten!!!...right, I expect a ton of acknowledgement from the players when they hear the chants...
they have a big fan base here, if the fans perform close to soccer games the support will be fine

How witty of you, Spiro.
How Ray Agnew of you.

I wonder how many people know of the historical reference.

Ask a young person which US president said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”?

It’s very depressing. Gusto is not taught anymore.

You’re factually incorrect. Sidy Sow last played LT as a freshman in 2018!

Five bleepin years ago. A long, long time ago.

Here, check for yourself:

I agree with Captain Stone 98 percent of the time. He thinks Ty Montgomery will be a no factor this season. I still have hope he can be that coveted third down back we desperately need in this offense.
