I think it's pointless to argue whether it's "God killed people" or "People killed people" because really, they are both the same person.
Arguing that God is a detestable killer is only an exercise in investigating literature, god is a fictional character. Please don't reply "No, god is real" because there is no evidence of any god. That's not to say that it's impossible that there be a god, but the "God" as written about in the various Holy Books (or any mythical deities or that matter) is nothing more than fictional character.
