Now that Josh McD. is back

In 2006 the Patriots had terrible receivers but the tight ends were still not used very much. 2007 onward, the personnel was there at the receiver position.

Why do you keep posting blatant falsehoods with regards to McDaniels?

How dumb would an OC have to be to ignore the likes of a Rob Gronkowski?

More importantly, how suicidal would McDaniels have to be?

In 2006 Ben Watson was inured in game 13.
After 12 games he was 6th in the NFL in receptions by TE with 48.
He was behind Winslow(67), Gates(57), Gonzalez(57), Heap(55), and Shockey(50)

He was THE LEADING RECEIVER ON THE PATRIOTS in both receptions and yards.

Please stop repeating things that you know are not true.

I would be happy if next year the Patriots simply keep the offense going as well as Bill O'Brien had the team averaging 35+ points per game this season after Thanksgiving.

Yes it would be very nice to improve the offense to the point it had a full season averaging 37 points a game, especially after averaging that in the last 6 after average in 29 oin the first 6.
Hey if McDaniels can figure that out, he will break his own OC record for most point ever in a season by 3.

While BOB is still here, Don't be surprised if JM uses his talents more broadly.

I am pretty sure that Josh is a smart guy. As an experienced coach in the NFL, I'll bet he knows the talent he will have to use, and use it well. Every situation is different - If you have 3 or 4 stud WR's - you use them, if you have a stud RB - you use them, If you have the GOAT at QB and 2 stud TE's - oh wait - what do i do here????? OF COURSE HE WILL USE THEM.

Gronk and Hernandez are a bit different to Ben Watson and Kyle Brady!

Josh McD utilized the weapons on offence, Watson and Brady were not weapons! Gronkandez are!

Many of these guys were WITH Josh in Denver ! I have to think his knowledge of their players should be of use !

Josh is a very smart offensive coordinator. The reason he didn't use many 2 TE sets when he was here is because we didn't have the personnel to do it.

Exactly.

Even the ball boy knows enough to well utilize the TEs - and the Pats certainly never had that much talent at the position before.

The only thing I worry about with McDaniels his him going overkill on turning to the same players over and over - though its tough to tell what's Brady's call and the OC's call these days regardless.

The more we spread the ball the more effective everyone will be.

When you had Randy Moss on one side,Stallworth and Gaffney on the other and Wes Welker down the slot...WTF would you even need the TEs much other than blocking?

There is no Moss,Gaffney,Stallworth on the team now....of course that means whoever is up next...and that's our TEs,Josh I am sure is not stupid enough to use Underwood in play more than Gronkowski

Hmm...so would the blueprint to beat us now be to send extra rushers creating the need for the TEs to be used more as blockers?

He coached our defensive backs in 2003. He could be of some help there, you know, if we had any.:bricks:
