Not Brady’s Best Game...

Maybe you should get your head out of your rectum and give the Rams D some credit. You’re obviously one of those fans that expects perfection every game

No I don’t. Nice try though. This is not a binary thing. Brady was not sharp. Saying that isn’t taking anything away from the rams. Both things can be true. Not sure what’s so hard to understand as I’ve pointed this out

Brady’s 2 TD 3 INT stat line is gonna get overblown.

It should be remembered that we ran A LOT inside the 10 yard line. Brady could have easily had way more passing TD’s.

If you can run effectively inside the red zone, then why even attempt to throw?

i actually LOVE how this game played out in hindsight, because now the haters and brady haters are going to see a mediocre game from him...and STILL a SB win

hahahaahaha

they can suck it

no one praised brady last year when he played amazing but still lost the SB, so they can talk about his bad stats this year all they want, all i gotta say is:

2018 SUPERBOWL CHAMPS, and #6

I'm getting tired of people's need to diminish Brady in games, when there are so frequently non-Brady issues involved that get ignored. Last night, Brady ended with a 71.4 rating. However, when you just take the Brady to Hogan passing out of the equation, Brady went
21 for 29, 262 yards and a 100.1 rating

Now, it's true that we can't just magically make it so that passes to Hogan do not count in the end, but we can look to it for an analysis. Brady's first pass, the INT intended for Hogan, was tipped at the line, which led to the INT. But, even beyond that, the Brady-Hogan connection was useless. But, outside of that, Brady was pretty damned good last night.

So, do we blame Brady for some of that? Sure, because he chose to try working Hogan into the game when Hogan just didn't have it, but we should also be blaming Hogan for dropping a ball he should have caught, and for not fighting through Peters on that deep ball that he could have caught if he'd muscled through. And we should acknowledge that Hogan simply wasn't good enough to positively impact the game as a receiver last night, and that such a failing was a significant drag on the offense.

The defense still needs help IMO. That's where the #32 pick should go. We still had trouble stopping the run at times this year and Mahomes just shredded us in the 4th quarter a few weeks ago. Our focus should be on trying to figuring out how to stop KC's offense because quite frankly, the AFCCG was the real super bowl.
Hard to argue with that. My thinking is just that it has seemed harder for us to find an impact WR in the draft than it has other positions, so our best shot at not missing is to use that first pick and try to really get a game-changer. We have some guys at all levels of the defense that play really well at times; and of course we should have Bentley back from injury. Contrast that with the WR group, where we have absolute trash outside of Edelman. I just think it's the direst need, and one we can't afford to miss on.

Our view at titles is too heavily skewed towards the SB performance itself. We should be looking at titles as a perfect 3-0 run against the league's best. If we looked at the title runs in that context, we wouldn't see a huge difference between them, particularly the first 3...

We never get to see Brady light up Carolina if the D doesn't play stellar against Tennessee and Indy. Corey Dillon and the D did the heavy lifting to get the team to the Pittsburgh AFCCG. That's why winning a SB is such an achievement: Over the course of 3 games against the league's best, not everything will be clicking all the time, so various units and players have to step up when the others don't.

Last night was like an inverse of the '03 title run: The SB was like the 17-14 slugfest over Tennessee while Brady's Carolina games were against the Chiefs and Chargers. Works for me.

Regards,
Chris

It is not Brady's fault that the Patriots had no deep threat. When you have no deep threat, and the defense has a great pass-rushing line, it spells trouble.

Crowd should have chanted Brady’s name sooner haha. Of course right after he takes the offense the length of the field for a TD. GOAT.

To those who want to diminish Brady's GOAT status by comparing Superbowl stats: Compare his stats with your guy's in their 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Superbowls.

I believe that Brady is still playing hurt.

Next season the Pats will bring in some stud WRs. I like Hogan and Dorsett, but Brady needs more options.

So, basically we’re just going to narrow it down to Mahomes then, since the torch has already been passed? We’ll say Mahomes circa ‘19-‘28, because we all expect sheer dominance across the league.

It by “stud receivers” you mean NFL players who can contribute in the passing game with any consistency, then yes, I agree with you.

The Patriots allowed 3 points total in 6 quarters of football against the #1 and #2 offenses in football. Both away from Foxboro.

I’m not going to rank it as more impressive than nearly shutting out Fivehead’s record setting 04 Colts but it is close...

Obviously I'd prefer a result like SB 49, or 51. But I'm just saying if I had to choose...I'd rather my team win a SB with Brady playing like thrash, compared to losing a SB with Brady throwing or 505 yards and three TD's.

These last two SB's have reinforced an important lesson: Football is the ultimate team sport.
