N'Keal on the block?

He would have to earn his role. If he plays like the player we thought he was going to be coming out, that’s the whole idea.

You don’t go with with the expectation he will accomplish this. You just give him one last chance due to the high level investment you made in him.

Hell, even Aaron Dobson was given three years here.
He won’t .....Harry is not that kind of elite player...as we all know....several WR were taken after him and have flourished....BB reached (again) for the guy....I would be very happy if they could trade him and wish him best of luck

The thing about Harry is that he visibly plays soft. He's a huge guy who gets bullied by 5'10" 180lb corners and loses jump balls against them.

Everyone harps on his speed but his real flaw is he doesn't attack the ball. He's an Anquan Boldin type without the aggression, which just makes him a slug.
He is very soft for a big guy....gets “outfought “ for the ball by much smaller defenders....can’t separate....total bust

See there you go again, you can't have it both ways. Player puts up great numbers it is the line, historically bad qb and the wr's don't put up big stats and they suck. Perhaps if you actually watched the games you could add some insight. I realize they conflict with the Tampa games sometimes, but jeez.
Great post

Great post

It was a terrible post.

"...If his tape stunk like randos think..."

Is rando some back-handed term that Tool uses to disparage those who dare question him & his Almighty Fearless Leader?

Feckin Tool.
To be fair, if you were a bald stump who bares the physical resemblance of a thumb, you’d probably call people “randos” on Twitter, too.

@Wozzy do you have an answer for Gasper?

Byrd was lost on Cam because Cam can't hit small receivers and can't throw deep. Harry is at a disadvantage with Cam because he doesn't possess the mobility at 225 pounds that all of the other WR's on the roster possess. Jakobi's singular amazing trait is that for his height and size he has superior agility, even if he's not fast, Kendrick Bourne is almost Jakobi's twin.

Harry requires that you put the ball just outside of a defender's reach, that you throw him open, that you throw 50/50 and jump balls but you put it up high and away with touch. Cam doesn't have that juice anymore and he was never accurate to begin with, but two shoulder surgeries on his throwing arm later and all he can make are the midfield throws. Harry should be working outside the hashes, and when in one on one situations the QB should throw it up every time. Jakobi, Edelman, Gunner, Bourne, Agholor all weigh 200 pounds or less and have Porsche handling, Harry is a muscle car.

There were reports the Cardinals were looking to trade for Harry, if he went to Kyler Murray and had Deandre Hopkins to mimic and learn from he would thrive. Until the Pats get an actual passer he will be underutilized and misused. If they don't plan to draft or acquire an accurate QB, then they should trade Harry tomorrow.

Cam blows, hopefully he's the bridge guy to something better, or one and done is the most we can hope for.

Many people had him rated as a first rounder not just Bill. Separation was always a concern on the scout reports but lots of people liked the pick at the time.

Plenty of "can't separate" receivers had/have great careers in the NFL, but they have to be aggressive to the point of bullying DBs and Harry seemingly doesn't have that fight in him.

I actually liked the pick too - or more accurately liked the idea of the pick - and wrote as much during the night of the first round...But I also did prefer AJ Brown, then Deebo Samuel & DK Metcalf, to Harry, whose value I thought was closer to the next group that included Terry McLaurin, JJ Arcega Whiteside, Andy Isabella & Parris Campbell...

Still can’t fathom how our chief Wr scout thought Harry’s tape looked anywhere near that of AJ Brown

By all accounts, Bill overrode his scouts because Harry killed it in the interview.

SF is on record on liking him. They had him WR1 or 2 and would have taken him if Deebo was gone.

Maybe the still have interest?

I was quite excited about the pick tbh and many people rated him. Some supposed experts i read suggested he was the best receiver in the draft. It clearly hasn't worked out but the pick wasn't considered an insane pick at all.

He's gonna have a good year, he's just not a #1, he's not gonna defeat most #1 corners in press coverage. But he can succeed against lower defenders, and now that he knows the system he'll be better vs zone.

Those claiming he's soft haven't been watching. The problems have been the lack of other weapons, last year's QB-ing fiasco, some injuries, and a little slow to learn-read-react. I can think of many plays where he was open and it wasn't thrown his way, or balls that were at his feet or behind him. He's also a valuable blocker.

Ehh.... that crap's gonna happen with pretty much every fan base and every draftee. It's really more about percentage than occurrence. Having said that, though, probably the best post was by Captain Stone.

I don't like this pick.

I Love this pick.

I am SO happy that Bill, for a change, didn't settle for fatally flawed mediocrity or non-fits/non-needs at #32 overall...

Having ventured such a ringing endorsement of a Patriots draftee, and gotten stung so badly, Captain may never again issue a positive review of a Patriots addition.

Thank you for the blast from the past. I love looking through threads like that to see my insane post and also check how opinions have evolved over time.
