was he this good in college? If so can't believe people would laugh at him going 3 in the draft. His arm is outrageous

The big issue with him in college is he only started 13 games for UNC. He showed a ton of promise when he played, but I think people were right to be concerned that he didn't start until his last year. There just isn't a lot of game film / body of work to break down, he didn't go against the best competition, he wasn't always lights out when he did play, and he could have huge holes in his game that haven't been exposed yet. Also he's never operated in a pro-style offense, although that's become more the norm than the exception. Most QBs coming out these days don't play in anything resembling a pro style offense, and lots of them transition fine.

If there's one thing Kyle Shanahan does well, it's evaluate QB talent. If he determined that Trubisky isn't his guy, then it's going to take more than a half of decent/solid play for me to second-guess him.

Trubisky wishes he could be as good as Bear's legend Jay Cutler. A few pretty throws, and then a braindead turnover. He didn't impress me in college, and then his interviews were weak (or at least I didn't like his personality). Hope he proves me wrong, for the sake of the Chicago fanbase, but I'm not expecting much.
