NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

That's why I said it was a Maye tweet. But those WRs are working for Maye and that's all that really matters.
Agreed. Maye sure helps the receivers by throwing the ball so well, but the fact that Boutte keeps getting open for these deep throws, that still have to be tracked and caught says a lot too. Also Diggs seems to have taken a mentorship to these guys and that also can’t be understated.

The group has really grown on me.

no moves for BUF, DEN, KC, NE. interesting

IND got Sauce and JAX got Jakobi

I have no idea what is going to happen in the AFC. NFC I'm confident the winner of the conference will be LA or PHI. don't trust Darnold

I would have given up a 4th for Breece Hall but maybe the Jets didn't want to get embarrassed by their own former player for the next couple of years.
We can sign Hall in FA this off-season. He will be 25 next year.

What happened to Diggs mentorship of K Williams?

Williams will have his day. Plenty of other receivers that haven’t found their niche in this league that were just drafted. Jalen Royals, Trey Harris, Luther Burden, Jayden Higgins, Even Tet isn’t exactly lighting it up either. Some of these guys are gonna need some time. Pretty common for most first years.

I am so offended.
How nice of you to livestream your reaction

I think that the OL/DL regression vs improvement over the season this far may be the reason they stood pat.

Pressure rate is way down on D, way UP on O.

Perhaps the powers that be realize it’s a bit of a mirage to think the roster is really ready to compete in meaningful games and that protecting assets is wiser to keep building.
Ridiculous take. We have the best record in the NFL and have won 6 in a row. A more likely take is they didn’t think any available players would be much of an upgrade.
Actually I think both these posts are correct. Aside from the Bills game which was great, I do think our schedule has flattered to deceive a bit. That's not to take away from Maye, the coaches, the defense and WRs who have all been brilliant but I do think it's a stretch to think the addition of a couple of pieces of depth would turn us into SB favourites.

They've stressed that they're in this for the long-term with a plan. No need to blow that up after half a season.
I agree, but with a slight twist. I don’t think the FO view was about whether a couple of pieces of depth would or would not turn us into SB favorites. I don’t believe they care if we are viewed as SB favorites or underdogs. If anything they might prefer to be seen as underdogs. But what I think really matters to them is their perception of our competitiveness and I don’t think they saw any additions for depth or star players that they felt would move that needle at a realistic price. I think they have a better view of players on our roster and ps than we do, and apparently a better opinion of those players relative to possible acquisitions than we do. And all of that is perception and evaluation; none of it is how our players stack up against the completion in the SB. We will have to wait and see how that shakes out, if/when we get there.

In 2027 they’ll package all 3 first rounders to move up to get the 1st overall pick to draft a QB, only for that QB to then refuse to play in New Jersey.
So you’re saying they’ll be trading with themselves for their own first round pick that’s #1 overall?

Won’t that get complicated?

I think the Jets realize they have to have a franchise QB to ever win anything, so they will either package all the first rounders for the top pick in 27', or they will pick 4 first round quarterbacks and let them fight it out.

Just finished catching up on the last 5 pages.

I have to say......Only the Jete could manage to morph the:

"NFL Trade Deadline Discourse"

into the:

Jete-Suck Thread

The sense I get is that the general feeling on the board is that Cowden walks on water while Wolf needs to walk the plank for past sins.

Just curious what people think about the dynamic when it comes to their roles in the trade process.

Don't forget we have a mini-bye after a gimme game vs. the Jete week 11 and the regular bye week 14. Those breaks might help on the injury front.
Your right there tune... forgot about the mini bye after the Thursday night game. As I mentioned when the schedule came out.. that late bye week is a real factor.. ideally players would say they would rather have it mid season..

I'm glad that Vrabel chose not to part ways with more of our depth.
I said myself we shouldn't trade Jennings.. now we just need for key guys to remain as healthy as an NFL season will allow for.. and for the depth guys.. Ponder, ect to start becoming factors.

2026 draft too.

Should be QB rich.
I really don't want to think about the draft now.. we are 7-2 and provided a catastrophic meltdown we should be playing in January beyond the Miami regular season finale.

From listening to Vrabel on weei he mentioned Cowden, stretch and Elliott do their due diligence and then bring it to his attention if there is a trade possibility.
